Paul
She looks well, good luck with the results and fingers crossed it's all clear:) Paul
osso
Fingers crossed mate! I've always wanted a french mastiff, thing is, I alway thought their coat was a deeper red, I'm assuming her coat is darker in the flesh and the lighter appearance is due to the camera flash? SteamAhead
She's looking fine mate. Few months and I'm sure scar will be gone. Here's a pic of Arnold (mums dog) wishing yours a full recovery. Supragal
Wow. Yeah that is big, but I suppose they need to get it ALL out. You might find it's the wrong time of year for the hair to grow back... our dobermann is still bald and his op was 7 weeks or so ago!!! It's in a better place though, scrappys is on his belly. Lewis
she looks like a DDB? Hope she recovers well. All the best. Lewis
Chris Wilson
As others have said, dogs are very prone to fatty subcutaneous lumps and bumps and most are harmles, if unsightly. They often start after physical trauma, (a knock or bang). With any luck at all the dog will be fine. The vets usually excise a big area just in CASE it's something more sinister. That'll heal up a treat, it's nicely sutured, one of our vets obviously spent time in nick, sewing mail bags, from the standards of his stitching, another could work for a French Riviera plastic surgeon, his stitching is that neat! They both end up with the same result though, innards within, elements without.
Jake
Whoa! That is a big scar. Hopefully she's gonna be ok now. Is the stitching alright? It doesn't look like it's pulling the wound together properly.
bromy
Is the stitching alright? It doesn't look like it's pulling the wound together properly. She is going back for a check in the morning so we will see but that is what I thought too.
Chris Wilson
They leave it with stitches fairly well spaced so it can drain a bit. Looks fine to me
Supragal
Chris- how is your new (ish) edition of a dog-bear getting on?

Chris Wilson
Chris- how is your new (ish) edition of a dog-bear getting on? Baschka is fine, but a real jumper, so if she sees a fox or rabbit she can get over 6 foot chainlink, no problem, which can be a PITA. I am trying to stop her doing this, but it's not easy! Otherwise she's a nice young dog, intelligent and people friendly, but she won't tolerate any unfriendly other dogs trying to boss her around, 6 months battling for food with 4 BIG adult dogs in a small run has taught her how to fight for her rights, so she can be pretty awesome for a young dog if anaything tries to push her around. I'd take some current pics of her but my camera is off being repaired. She's going to Crufts on the Saturday, on Discover Dogs....hope she behaves there! BTW, the dog in my avatar isn't one of our breeds, it's just that I would really like a breeding pair of them, but looking at a pic is as near as I am likely to get without spending a lot of dosh
Supragal
Glad she is settling in. Once your camera is back take some pics for me What are they like to train? Quite attentive and willing to learn? It would seem that our dobie is quite the typical "do exactly what he wants, when he wants" breed standard. I'm making good progess with the Ridgeback though, they are meant to be stubborn as hell but I'm very pleased with how fast he picks up new things. I'm thinking about going to crufts this year... maybe see you there
