imi
if you downloaded the free version then its free for personal use. I tend to ignore the pop ups...

I've been using AVG for a year or so, and started getting pop ups like that recently. If you follow the link it will take you to the update (7.5 I think it is). It's still free - but I think they are planning to stop supporting the "old" version in Jan - which I guess means no more virus updates. MrRalphMan
Yeah, I had 7.1 on my PC and the pop ups started. D/L 7.5 and installed it no problems.. Shame it won't install on my server 2003 machine like 7.1 did.. Oh well time to try something else.
michael
The free version you have isn't going to be supported but the new one they have available will be, they are just trying to get people to opt for the paid version with scare tactics and by hiding the free one: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 Just click the next link and install this over your current version: http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg75free_432a861.exe

Shovels
I think the problem is that you, by the sounds of it, have downloaded the internet security version - it's got all the bells and whistles, but they only give you a 30 day trial. Download just the avg free ed. see michael's links. You won't get the firewall or the spam filtering, just anti-virus. AVG do do a seperate anti-spyware program also available at the same link above. but this has limited functionality after 30 days. if you want a firewall then either zone alarm (free ed) or kerio.
