Gazboy
The UK cars still command a huge premium- one on PH was £38k, compared to an imprt that was £29k and of similar milage/specs. Did have a Nismo version in the classifieds for nearly £70k once.
CardiffSupra
I'd rather save a little more and buy a Noble.
rob wild
if you running single turbo i would have thought you should beat your mate if he standard turbos Batter him all up and down the back roads around here Thanks for all the comments guys, i think the thing is that i was/am going to spend sort of: Engine rebuild 3k BL box + Hi stall 2K Respray 1.5K Suspension bushes 1K New body kit 1k PHR fuel kit 1k 8-10k on the supra to sort it out but im kind of thinking that money could be put towards buying a R34. I think the thing is as well is that there is loads of bits need doing at the moment: Fit new Tiens + EDFC Fit new Trail Bumper Sort out RLTC (either put it back on or sell the dam thing) Fill and respray Skirts/Bumper Loads of small bits But saying that the car flew through the MOT last week with no problems spotted. Keep the opinions coming it intresting hearing your view as no body here at work give a damm
Lukeyboy2k
I'd rather save a little more and buy a Noble. I'm with you mate. That particular R34 pictured was on AT for £37K. Get a Noble M400 for just over £40K. I'd even prefer an Noble M12 (can be much cheaper). That R34 will destroy most things on the road but is Fugly IMO. chilli
if you buy an R34 now at 30k + you will stand to lose plenty in depreciation over the next few years as they fall as per R32s and 33s. R34s at their current price don't really represent good value for money IMHO and with that sort of money there are other good cars to consider... Depends what you want out of a car. TBH if you really want a 'liner then wouldn't you be better off spending the money on an R32 and some decent mods to make it very fast indeed... Mike M
Try and have a few days away from driving the sup if possible. It always feels great after a break from it. I like the R34 but not enough for the money. As for the supra problems you need to get done I think you'll just end up with another list with the R34. I've had my other car 9 years and i'm still not happy with bits and have days where I want rid.
mkirby
I think if money is no object then the R34, theres a few for sale at the moment, tim websters R34 NUR is up for sale at about £60k which gets you around 800 bhp, sequential box and several sets of wheels, theres a 600 bhp one for around £35k which is very nice and with the loop hole in bringing them over the prices should fall. johnnyknox
If you get it going/tuned like these then I'll shut up http://www.dpccars.com/car-movies/12-16-06page-Tuned-Nissan-Silvia-vs-Nissan-Skyline.htm That Mines R34 is something else. Everytime I see it in action I get a twitch on.
blitz supra
Why you going for the R34 They are the heaviest, but i agree the R34 in blue in V Spec is such a pretty car Most will arguably tell you the best all rounder was the 33 (but you will get the debate and say the 32 was the best!!) I went out in my mates R33GTR V Spec which has +£70k mods, i have to say i have "never" been in such a fast car it blew your senses, anyone who is in the GTROC will know the car John (nismo R1 ) Not only is it fu***cking fast its a real beauty totally flawless Awesome power and four wheel grip too... i was still smiling an hour after i got out of the passenger seat. rob wild
Ok just had a long hard think at the gym and I’ve decide to sell the Supra and buy a Rover ONLY joking she's staying Coming out of the gym met my mate in the bar anyway decide to follow him home on a private road fairly uneventful until we reached a dual carriageway and i must say his R34 at full tilt on the entry roundabout looked amazing, held it in third and slowly gained on him (3/4 throttle) hovered for a moment next to him and then floored it and wow the old girl absolutely blitzed him anyway just got home and had a txt from him saying "may be i should have bought a single supra and put 15 grand in the bank" LOL I think loads of you guys hit the nail on the head really to get the same sort of performance from a good example of an R34 it could get up to 40-45k and really it probably wouldn’t be any faster. I think another big factor is as well that as more imports come in the prices will fall and I could easily see a 35k one now going for low 20k in a couple of years. I think I still will get one but may just wait a couple of years. Plus and this is a really big factor this club is such a great one i think i would miss the chat etc
Conrad
Ok - total noob qestion here but why oh why are Skylines so expensive? Not just the 34 but the 33 too. They're mega money compared to a Supra I've always been such a Supra fan I never looked into Skylines, but the more I see them the more I want one. It's just compared to a Supra they're so damn dear. Why didn't they depreciate like the Sup?
Nick
You can't compare a single turbo Supra to a standard R34, it's pointless. It would be the same if the shoe was on the other foot. You may as well keep the Supra, because if you buy a R34 you WILL spend money modifying it. I bought my R34 V-Spec II a few months ago (a lot cheaper in Japan!) with some very nice Nismo parts on it. Thought I'd be happy, but then I found out it was limited, so I thought I'd get the Mines VX-ROM, then I thought well why not do the downpipe and sports cat at the same time. Hmmmm, Nismo I/C pipework would be nice, and the Nismo plenum gives better distribution to the cylinders, oh and an oil cooler would be usefull on the track.... Now I'm going to have to try and stop myself from buying the 600PS Stage II engine once my Supra is sold !! Conrad - Remember the R34 is a newer car, made in less numbers and they weren't exactly cheap new.

Conrad
sorry it had to be done That's one taxi I'd love to catch a lift in! Nick - yeah I kinda understand with the 34 bt the 33 is still really expensive compared to the Sup. I'd love a R33 V-Spec but for the money they fetch you can almost afford a single Supra. Jake
Everybody knows the R34 is the ultimate! How do you mean 'ultimate' Tom? Ultimate what? I wouldn't have one. I don't like the look of them and they have a nasty interior, for the same money as a stock r34 you could have an awesome Supra that would kill the taxi. Havard
I don't understand all the fuss with the R34. I'm more bothered about looks than performance and although I used to be a bit of a Nissan fan, the Skylines for me are not an attractive car. They also cost a fortune and for what?? The Supe is a beautiful looking machine and I would rather be seen in a Supe than most cars. Maybe I'm biased - actually, yes I'm biased!!! H. You've just answered your own question. Most people that buy R34's do so for the for the performance and the technology.
