Thorin
We've not that long since bought a house, when we moved in the electricity and gas supply was supplied by British Gas. Three months ago we moved to NPower and we've already had all the confirmation letters etc. and even had a bill for both from NPower already. Today we get a letter from British Gas... "Welcome to electricity from British Gas, we've now started supplying your electricity." Looks like they've transferred our electricity back again without even consulting us. They're going to get back to me tomorrow claiming it must be a mistake. F*ckers.
RedM
Don't even get me started on these twats. It took six months, 24 phonecalls and three visits from British Gas people to get them to accept that our flat was not a business premises and had been separate from the business below for years. I haven't even mentioned the debacle over their paperless billing and webshite sign-up. No-one calls back, no-one gives their full name, no-one care. Have a look for a thread called Grittish Bass are Shucking Fite.
Havard
I don't know if you can get them in your area but give Scottish Hydro a go. I was always a bit sceptical about these type of cnuts but they have been brilliant. I keep getting bills that amount to phuq hall. http://www.hydro.co.uk/ Then again there might be something wrong with my meter so we'll keep it between us eh? H. DannyW
They've just put my monthly bill up to £65 from £10, it was their idea to start it at £10 per month in the first place. Tossers.

smithaldo
Ok, what you need to do is request whats called an Erroneous Transfer stating you've not signed a contract. They have to then return your supply back to your previous supplier as if it had never left them. You will have to pay your previous supplier for the time that you weren't with them, but you won't have to pay Bgas a penny. If they refuse just tell them your going to go to Energywatch. Working for EDF Energy I have to deal with this everyday from all companies.. SO many do it..
jamesmark
As smithaldo say's ask for an erroneous transfer to be completed, it could even be as simple as an MPAN mix up, it has 23 digits although 13 are needed and one digit cold be wrong and it was actually your neighbour that was swapping. PM me your details as I work for British Gas I can tell you a little bit with no lies.

dangerous brain
We had this with ours. We were with Npower and a british gas sales team came round. They were told we didnt want their product and asked the ex to sign the sheet to say we'd been given the presentation. Less than a week later and we get the paperwork from Npower saying they were sorry we were moving away from them etc etc. I went harpic and got straight onto Npower who happily sorted the whole situation out. smithaldo
Ok, just a little bit of friendly advice. If anyone knocks on your door from an energy company and you tell them that your not interested do not sign something to say A) that they've been to your property B) to say that you don't want the product then don't do it. You will never have to sign something for the above reasons. Same as if they say sign something to say they've read your meter. A signature is not required. Pot
I'm not even going to start on the issues I've had with B/Gas, sooner or later this week I'll need to sleep, and stop posting about them...
