hadyn
I know all about checking VSV and hoses etc to look for leaks that might be causing number 2 not to come on... But tonight, I accelerated quite briskly stomping my foot to floor and didnt get any number 2 turbo from 4k rpm. Car revved through the rev-range upto the limiter but got a slight bump "like a less violent fuel cut feeling" before I backed off. Strangely, everything seems fine again now and number 2 is prespooling and boosting as it should. Does the system sometimes become 'stuck'? Jake
Yeah they do that sometimes. I thought there was something wrong with mine until I read other folks on here asking about the same thing. If it only does it occasionally I wouldn't worry about it.

Pig
Mine used to do this. I asked so many time about this and got no where. I cant point the thing out that does it.... couldnt name it though lol. Bad news for you chum........ its only going to get worse.

Pig
Not autobox AFIK, not had any probs when single. I think its either the apature (is that even a part?) or the ASV. If you remind me ill take a pic of the bit tommorrow.
Pig
like how worse? Just happen more and more mate. Mine started very rarely then it started to happen so much that i went to the extent of having the turbo's removed to diagnos the problem......thats why i ended up going single

hadyn
heres hoping its not the autobox!! box seems to be working fine tho...
RedM
Mine seems to be working fine too but I've been told over and over that it is highly unlikely to be anything else. You get an increase in revs but increase in speed. Am I right? If so, then how? How can your revs increase without an increase in road speed? You'd either have to be wheelspinning or in neutral. Seems more likely that the box is slipping under heavy torque situations.
hadyn
well it didnt feel like a clutch slip to me, it felt like the 2nd turbo was stuck and the car was pulling along with the 1st blower on full boost, it sluggishly moved up in speed, rather than rocketed as it would with the 2nd blower on
Homer
Mine did this since I bought it 3 years ago. It's caused by one of the vsv of actuators sticking (can't remember which one) and stopping the 2nd turbo from coming online. Release/reapply the throttle and its sorted. Its a very common issue. BTW, its not a good idea to keep your foot to the floor when this happens as it'll overspeed the 1st turbo
Jezz
Mines started sticking recently too. Sometimes works fine, number 2 comes in as it should, then other times it hesitates and comes in late. Great fun when it does decide to come in though. hadyn
Thing is, mine didnt come on at all...
Mike M
EGBV caused this on mine. First demand for No-2 and it sluggishly revs, lift off then on or change gear and it's fine. The vsv was a bit fecked and the EGBV actuator was seized giving a good crack when I released it. Mine started it one day then just got worse and worse until it was everytime I wanted tubby 2 after a while.
RedM
If you steadily accelerate up to 4k does the 2nd tubby come on or is it only when you plant it at about 60-70?
hadyn
Well just had a quick play with the car this morning. 1st time i planted my foot cruisng at 50 ish leptons the same thing happened again - it felt like the 2nd turbo was asleep and wasnt playing ball again. Thereafter on numerous 50ish 60ish lepton cruises I planted my foot to the floor and the 2nd turbo came on fine........... I dont think its the autobox myself, but you do worry me redm! Thorin
If you change up or are hovering around the change over point to twin turbos then it does often get its knickers in a twist, is it around that point?
