peter richards
i think its just the nature of sports geniuses sp , that they are unpredictable , every sport has them and would suffer if they were restrained in any way . but i do feel for the fans as they pay good money to see these people

I am a fan of this modern day master, however does he not have a responsibility to the sport, the fans, the paying public...?

It's just a game at the end of the day, unless it is clearly written in the rule books that they must do all available frames then I do not see a problem, It's not the public's game it was his game he is the one playing it so he made the choice to end it. Mountain of a mole hill as usual.

Mountain of a mole hill as usual. Being role models sports personalities do have a responsibility to their fans and the paying public. After all, without them they wouldnt be as successfull as they are - so they do owe something back. On the other hand - he knew he wasnt able to give a 100% (despite the fact that it was hard for others (even Hendry) to tell that he was struggling) and he couldn't carry on as perhaps mentally his mind wasnt in it. So yes a hard one, but certainly something that shouldnt be entertained on a regular basis as it does bring the sport (which is entertainment at the end of the day) into disripute and no-one should be above the sport. Alex
The chap's got issue's and just because he's in the public eye that shouldn't be underestimated. I would like to see him put on a charity re-match with Stephen Hendry though as this would be a nice gesture.

Knowing the kinda guy he is, that is probably what he will do.... shame really when people suffer from depression.
bignum
He has always had issues with hendry i think, so that probably had something to do with it.
jamesmark
He has always had issues with hendry i think, so that probably had something to do with it. That does not make sense. Surely if he had issues with Hendry and Hendry not being as good as Ronnie he would want to beat him.
imi
HE did have issues with Hendry, it is well documented. However according to Hendry and Sullivan interview they dont have any issues with eachother anymore. Ronnie is a genius (compare him to Senna), Hendry (M Schumi) is a bloody good player that has won the world championships the most - both are excellent players of the top order.
