SupraStar 3000
I can't stand them. now, I'm not talking about the fairy lights and tinsel. Its the B&Q/HomeBase style giant monstrosity's that people stick in the garden or on the walls. THEY LOOK FU*KIN W@NK!! Stop buying them FFS!!! Have people suddenly stopped being creative? It seems to get worse every year! Its horrendous When I was a young, Christmas seemed magical with all the real trees fairy lights and tinsel. These days its like Blackpool has invaded your street but what REALLY MAKES ME MAD is the loathsome and macabre inflatable illuminated snowing globes MY GOD! Have people lost their minds! It looks hideous. For the love a baby Jesus, please stop buying this junk.
Pot
I know exactly how you feel, this is what one of my mates has done to his house... I think I'll be disowning him...
DaveK
Funny thing is - I agree and probably have even stronger views than you. I think all decorations are pointless - including trees. Bah humbug! On the other hand - my g/f would have a climax on the spot if she saw the house above. So I don't care - I put a few lights outside (in the window, around the front door) as a surprise and it made her smile. If I had the time - I would be doing the same as Pot's friend. Angarak
There are some badly thought decorations out there, and some people who dont have a clue what looks nice and what looks like mini-las-vegas. I think when people decorate the outside of their houses like the one above - its mainly for the kids - not the adults. Christmas becomes less special as you get older, whereas for young kids its probably the most magical day of the year. I doubt many young kids think those lights, or the house shown above is crap....it probably makes it a more magical event for them.
Kip
I fekkin hate the damned things - as soon as there is an environment tax the better - just how much juice are the fekkin things extracting up and down this tiny island of ours? Now youve got me going. Ban the fekkin things
SupraStar 3000
I'm still trying to figure out what part of Xmas features helicopters (In the pic...) This is my point! All the old traditional decorations have a reson. I can't remember them all but the cutting down the tree and decorating your home with it was supposed to catch a tree nymph and give you good luck. BTW: When I say nymph I mean tree spirit not a horny bitch with a massive sexual appetite.
Pot
BTW: When I say nymph I mean tree spirit not a horny bitch with a massive sexual appetite. That's not what my Dad said...
SupraStar 3000
err,.. what did your dad say? He didn't stick a nympho on top of your tree and tell you its was a fairy did he?
Pot
Come to think of it, he might have said 'I wish this was', before he stuck the tree up her skirt...
