The other half got a hamper from her work today. Amongst the items in it, aside from this lovely wine I'm supping, was a long piece of cure pork sausage (oo-er missus) and we are wondering if it needs cooking first. No instructions you see!

Christ, I must be pissed. I didn't follow a word of that! ;):p

What time you around on Sunday, Mister?

Ok you do not need to cook it. As cured = cooked.

Anytime after 1 pm as my works night out in Leeds on Saturday and I do not plan on coming home till Sunday morning.

I feel sorry for you guys, you seems to know only raw sausage, cooked sausage and cured sausage doh!

Is there a world of sausages out there I'm oblivious to ? Hard to believe there is a state of sausage somewhere between raw / cured / cooked that has escaped me for all these years.

There are things out there a man cannot dream of! Just visit Italy, Hungary, Poland, Germany and you will find out how many types and kinds and states of sausage you can try :D

PS I forgot to answer main question - depends what sausage it is, there is few types of cured sausage you can cook additionally to release more intensive taste, but usuallu cured sausage is eaten as it is, without tampering :p
