ManwithSupra Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 hi all my low oil level warning light came on today and I had to top up the oil with the above grade castrol gtx magnatec will the be ok for a TT or shall I change asap.... also I am not sure why I am loosing oil the car does not smoke at all and there are no oil spots under the car when it has been standing so indicating no leaks there is no smoke when warm either do the tt use a bit of oil anyway someone put my mind at rest please. GTX is'nt reccomended as its semi-synth, but it's not going to harm your engine, just don't go all out on the trottle:) I'd get it changed in a couple of thousand miles with the fully synth stuff. MrDriver Posted December 15, 2006 Share Posted December 15, 2006 I use 10w30 in mine. (TT '94) Last month I also had the il warning light turning on. It appears that I lost 1 litre of oil after 6000 miles. So nothing to serious.
