Dragonball
Yes they will need them - normally the required fitments can be found at any local hardware store... hadyn
oh shit, what dimensions will the bolts be please someone? exactly what I said when andyhannah pm'd me about this. Still be positive, at least we know this now before taking the time to take our old coolers off and find that we can fit the new coolers with metric bolts and then possibly run the risk of stripping the threads off the cooler fixings

So am i right in thinking the fixing holes on the new smic take a different width bolt or is the length?
hadyn
Its the thread ray. The smics were built in america and therefore need american imperial threads. Metric thread bolts will shear the threads in the smic and dont fit

Gordon F
What is the thread size we need then, are these bolts still available over here then? Most nut and bolt suppliers still have good stocks of UNF/UNC bolts.
Gamer
Also - Saves the need for fitting a heat retaining Front Mount Intercooler That is what has been holding me back, that damn pesky heat retaining FMIC. I better get one of these side mounts while their hot (pun intended)
Dragonball
Most nut and bolt suppliers still have good stocks of UNF/UNC bolts. Mate - I just took it down and laid it on the counter and said 'measure it' After they had fallen about laughing there was a imperial one that fitted fine and I got a few They are just slightly larger than 6mm PITA I know - and really sorry
Gordon F
They are just slightly larger than 6mm 1/4 inch. If it has a fine thread it will be 1/4UNF, coarse thread will be 1/4 UNC.
ivan
My fitters had a right time fitting mine. As they were a Jap tuner they couldn't find anything to fit and rather than go out and buy some they ended up re-tapping the thread for metric.
