Bill Prawn
I got a producer the other day. We have a really wide path outside some shops and everyone parks there. I did the other night to nip into shop for about two minutes. When I came out Mr Plod was standing in front of car looking at tax disc (with his vehicle parked on the path opposite). He said nothing just let me get in car and start up. He then came to side window and tapped on glass. I wound down and he asked me to turn off car. He then proceded to say I was illegally parked etc, etc, and asked why? I said as the car I had was prone to vandalism etc, and to my amazement he said "Well you choose to to drive a car like that and I guess you can afford to, so you have to put up with things like that" At which point I wanted to tear into him with a tirade of why don't you f**k off and catch some real criminals, but I thought better of it. He gave me a producer and then said: "if I find out it is not insured I will come and impound it." Don't you just love the attitude of some poeple? tbourner
The comment about putting up with vandalism is shitty, he was probably jealous more than anything. The insured comment is just doing his job though, I bet he finds endless numbers of cars uninsured in his job, much more than you'd think, and it'll be cars that are expensive to insure that are most common! So it's just a comment to warn you. Don't think there's anything wrong with what he did, sarcasm comes with the territory getting pulled - just accept it. NEVER tell them to go and arrest some real criminals though (or claim you pay their wages)! People get far to uptight with cop dealings imagine the scrotes they deal with every day - they've got no idea what kind of person you are, the best way to find out is to get sarcy and see how you react - the worst thing for you to do is react badly!!! Pete
"Well you choose to to drive a car like that and I guess you can afford to, so you have to put up with things like that" You HAVE to put up with that?! Yeah, because of the state of the crime in this country.

Bill Prawn
Don't think there's anything wrong with what he did, His attitude was very bad, at the end of the day he is a public servant, and should still be able to talk to the public on a decent level. Bobbeh
Sounds to me like you gave him a valid reply and it threw him so he had to make some statement trying to get one on you. Twat.
Bill Prawn
He went toi his colleague to get deatils as to who car was registered. He then asked me if I spelt my name with a ph or a v. I said neither, to which his eyes lit up thinking it wasn't registered. I told my name and he scuttled back to car with the info all excited only to find out his partner had made a cock-up. Then he had the audacity to ask me what the car was (it's de-badged).

DaveK
To be fair - he did kind of have a point. Parking where you did was hardly serious - but from his point of view, you broke the law and your argument was because you were worried about what might happen to your car. I imagine he thinks the law is the law - not just when it suits people. And you do choose to drive a car that attracts attention - you could drive a practically invisible family hatchback. There was probably 10 cars including the Police vehicle parked on the path. He picked on mine because it wasn't a boring hatchback. Victimisation? Victimisation? Maybe - although I suspect 9 other people didn't get into their cars at the same time you did. It's quite possible the same thing would have happened to any of them. Bob
How I loathe traffic police. I'm sure they must be artificially created from the mildew in the Police Station showers.
