Active spoiler pics when DOWN

Does anyone have any pics of the active spoiler when it's down? I'd like to see it in relation to the car (with stock front), but can't get it down unless I'm at 100mph, and I have no way of knowing what it looks like otherwise. I might have it fixed so it's down permanently you see

Why cant you turn the ignition on and press the "Spoiler Down" button?

ive got mine fixed permanently down. not really an issue with speed bumps, more steep gradients / drop kerbs etc. have a look in my gallery for some more pics if req.

Never had an issue with speed humps, but then I could raise/lower mine on the fly. Must have been the way it was wired in.

A handy tip for those with lowered front ends/speed humps.

When approaching the hump slow right down and brake really firmly just a you approach, then lift off the brakes and your front end will raise and at the same time apply a bit of throttle to drive over the bump and that keeps the front up too. Takes a bit of practice but worth trying.

The button on mine is useless, it just comes down automatically at high speed, then back up again when I slow down, simple as that.

That trick approaching speed bumps looks nifty. Perhaps I will have to do one of your advanced driving courses before I try that. I just know I will cock it up and end up with a nasty scrape!

so yours is working as Toyota intended.

You can get your button wired so that you have manual control.

And will it still come down automatically at 55mph + if you get the button wired up like that?

No, you lose that feature completely. Manual will mean completely manual.

Check out mkiv.com - there is an article on this - i think you need to disconnect the pink speed wire that goes into the active spoiler ECU.

This is mine with the spoiler down, same as the rest really just wanted to show my car off!!

I tried disconnecting the connection below the head light when the spoiler was down, it stayed down but the big red warning light on the dash stays on permenantly also you can't retract it if you need to.

I think I heard somewhere you have to have the spoiler down permenantly if you fit a FMIC as all the workings get in the way.

with the ignition turned on (but not so far as firing it up), pressing the button "should" lower the spoiler..........

:yeahthat:

And it should also lower at 60MPH (not 100MPH), and raise up again once you drop below 40MPH? Possibly dodgy speedo conversion?
