RobSheffield
I am picking my new car up on Saturday, i called for insurance yesterday, they said the insurance cover note will be delivered within 'a few days' because of the time of year. IF it doesnt arrive by the time i set off on Saturday at 1pm, since post offices will be closed, can anyone suggest a way around it? Tried getting seller to tax it but he threw his insurance cert out
Ian W
either wait for your cert / do it online / or drive it untaxed
Sheefa
Online, but you still need a code I think or you may be able to just input the Reg mate. I wouldn't worry just yet. If it's a new car for yourself the police should understand mate if caught during this period. If not, ditch the car and run. That's what I'd do. Sheefa
My tax disk arrived within 3 days of doing it online. Pretty damn good mate! Do you want to borrow my driving license as well? I have a spare photocard I think. Up for grabs.

Ian W
Doh Im not calling the guy AGAIN! it's his own fault......muppet. how the hell else are you going to legally drive the car away if it's not taxed???
Class One
You won't be able to do it online until the car is in your name for starters, it'll need to be insured and have one of the new mots.
Safely Insured
you may be able to get the tax with a fax of the cover note. You are surposed to have the origianl but loads of people get their tax with a copy. I have even faxed cover notes straight to a post office before and they have used that.
