Road tax question

Recommended Posts

I am picking my new car up on Saturday, i called for insurance yesterday, they said the insurance cover note will be delivered within 'a few days' because of the time of year.

IF it doesnt arrive by the time i set off on Saturday at 1pm, since post offices will be closed, can anyone suggest a way around it?

Tried getting seller to tax it but he threw his insurance cert out :(

Online, but you still need a code I think or you may be able to just input the Reg mate.

I wouldn't worry just yet. If it's a new car for yourself the police should understand mate if caught during this period.

If not, ditch the car and run. That's what I'd do.

Im not sure about that Greg, i reckon it will depend on the type of copper who grabs me! I wont run though, ill just say my name is Greg :)

To tax online, id still be waiting for the post wouldnt i?

ah yes, but in your defence (although it should be displayed) at least you would have taxed it.

to do it online you need to have the number off the new fangled MOT certificate though.

you may be able to get the tax with a fax of the cover note. You are surposed to have the origianl but loads of people get their tax with a copy. I have even faxed cover notes straight to a post office before and they have used that.

Good thinking :)

Ill ask them to fax me a copy if it hasnt arrived by tomorrow!
