Lucifer
I paid £14 /litre last time from Steve Manley (inc delivery to home) £29.99 is a rip off (gues this is plus delivery?). Shame on you Mkivstore Not impressed at all... And we should take a spanking from you why? Didnt realise you ran our business too ?
Mike M
So Does dexron II or III smell and feel the similar to V160 when you rub in your fingers. V160 has the feel and smell of gear oil. I dropped some sort of ATF out of mine that had very little smell and didn't feel anything like V160. The gearbox had been whining in 2nd and notchy. V160 transformed it and quietened down 2nd. I'm Just curious really, Im sure the companies know their stuff.
Alex
Guys. Having had discussions with the Fuchs/Silkolene technical bods, this is in fact a Dexron II product (not Dexron III although Dexron III is supposed to be backwardly compatible) The product we would recommend that you use is Fuchs/Silkolene Titan ATF3000 (Dexron II). http://www.opieoils.co.uk/performance_lubricants/pdf/fuchs/TITAN_ATF_3000.pdf Prices in the Members Section of our website are: 1L £4.49 & 5L £15.99 The Fuchs Titan ATF 4000 is a better quality product although not a DII but a DIII. http://www.opieoils.co.uk/performance_lubricants/pdf/fuchs/TITAN_ATF_4000.pdf Cheers Simon In laymans terms does this stuff match the specifications laid out in Chris Wilsons post? oilman
In laymans terms the oil works fine and will not damage your gearboxes. Cheers Simon
Kranz
I believe that V160 gear oil is available from your local BMW agent, as a Getrag V160 type is used in the M5 E39 (Getrag 226??) and also 540i and 580i. Its BMW LTF-1. Also the Skyline R34 GTR uses same gear oil. So there should be lots available
Supragal
So... any advance on this? Has anyone been running a different oil with good/bad results? Need to do a full change on mine so am keen to hear experiences.
Homer
I think it's still available from Toyota Rosie, I got some from my local place a couple of months ago.

So he's saving me it, sweet. It comes in 1L metal cans...so you can't get 1.5L's.... If they give you something that's 1.5L's then be sure to read the label!!! Chris Wilson
It's fine, there's a lot of hype about auto and manual box oils, IMO.
