Pete
GT40's should have Ford engines Who cares if it's got 730bhp!!
Chris Wilson
Who cares if it's got 730bhp!! Fair point Adding a transmission to reliably handle this will make an eye watering total! But it should pick its skirts up and waddle up the track quite quickly
Terminator
A snip at a tad under £15K. What a torque monster. I would love to ride in what ever it ends up powering. On the downside though, the ECU comes with launch and traction control, so not for real drivers:p

Chris Wilson
It's an all alloy block, with alloy heads, but still a hefty old lump. No use at all for an Exige. If they ever sort it out properly the Russell Savory V8 is the one to go for, I think it's already been fitted to an Elise. http://www.rst-v8.com Expensive engine though, and a friend had a nightmare with it's dry sump oiling system and reverted to another engine in desperation, and he had factory support with it! Also this, but I don't know what the hell it is...: http://www.racecarsdirect.com/viewlisting.php?view=5133

It goes in the front bit of the car underneath the big flappy thing.

Chris Wilson
At least they were both RWD, I recall a period where I ran around in an Allegro estate with a Maxi 1750 engine in it. Car was mint, engine mildly tweaked, but I still used to park it out od sight until some poor girly agreed a date... By then it was too late as they were struck by my animal magnetism and charisma

vvteye
Ahh the marinas... I had a hillman avenger tiger in 1977 which eat the lardy pants marinas for breakfast. It was seriously modded though, with a pair of stromberg carbs I reckon it must have at least been 100+ bhp (at the wheels of course.
