ivan
Try putting in some other DNS settings as backup to the crappy NTL DNS servers.
Bobbeh
I wondered why the internet for me has suddenly improved.. purely os everyone else is off it Bloody NTL, they've been having issue for about a month now. Still getting crappy downloads too, only 110k a sec right now.
JohnA
I'm getting 4Gbit downloads eaaaaaaaasily on NTL. And the web-based mail looked dead the other day, but it was only the front page. Going straight to the link it works fine. They're probably upgrading the service in your area.
Gaz6002
NTL had a major failure yesterday but published some backup DNS addresses. It will allow some sites but not all.

I lost count of the amount of times lately when i been kickin s**t outa my modem because i keep losing connection on online based games, no internet service, emails not working etc When are we gonna start getting discount for the amount of times we suffer a loss of service? To add insult to injury, when i phone for assistance(Computer says Nooooo)cough! I am usually answered by some poor sod who is probably on £1 an hour and can't even speak prper enlish! Bobbeh
Write them a letter and they will refund you some money, we've done it before. I'm not mad at them as when it works 90% of the time its bloody superb, I think they have a lot of maintenance right now but its very inconvenient to be doing it around x-mas. JustGav
The reason for all the downtime is due to the fact that they are finally bringing the networks up to spec.. Remember NTL consists of a whole stack of little cable companies, plus telewest now... so they have got soo much dis-organization on their network that they need to standardize... I have however heard rumours of 50mbps becoming available once it is all stabilized...
