Supra_Nish
Do you have an Auto ? Mine just clears the lever when it is in D so can operate normally. It is not bad at all really, for the features and options that come with this unit it is worth 1-2 seconds more of my time before I leave or park up. In fact I think mine only hits because it is not located in the standard location which people normally install a 1 din unit. Normally they would place it in the top half of the area where the stock unit was and use the lower half as a cubby hole or for other electronics. Well mine is mounted in the lower half of the stock location and I have 3 small gauges in my top half. So I cannot see how anyone mounting it in the top half would have any problem. I no longer have a supra! I drive a T350, the stereo is in-line with the gear stick. This kinda shows the problem: I think putting it into reverse or similar should sort the problem.
