Dr_Doom
Hi, Part number needed please; It's the clamp that goes onto the positive terminal of an NA battery (J-spec small terminals).. This part then bolts onto the main wire going into the loom. (hope that makes sense!) Mine has snapped due to it corroding from a leaking battery and is being held on with a bungee cord at the moment! Need to get one ASAP. Can any one advise the quickest way of getting one? phoning Toyota etc... Thanks, Rob.
Guest mk47
i believe this is the part number for the clamp ont the positive: T90982-05037 and its around £11 ish from toyota.
Mike M
I had this happen on my NA. I bought one of those universal brass terminal connectors from halfords and connected the cable to the clamping bolt on the connector. Not as pretty as the original but for under a £1(I think) it'll get you out of a tight spot. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Battery-Terminal-Post-Clamp-Negative_W0QQitemZ180060261192QQihZ008QQcategoryZ9903QQtcZphotoQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem One of these. Dr_Doom
Thanks for the replies, i believe this is the part number for the clamp ont the positive: T90982-05037 and its around £11 ish from toyota. Is that part number for the jspec battery terminal (small posts) or the UK one (big posts)? I just did a quick search and it looks like it might be for the UK battery. I want to make sure before i order the part. I had this happen on my NA. I bought one of those universal brass terminal connectors from halfords and connected the cable to the clamping bolt on the connector. Not as pretty as the original but for under a £1(I think) it'll get you out of a tight spot. I can't get on ebay at work to check, but the only one they had in my local halfords was a large connector that is too big for the jspec battery. I was going to go down the 'changing the battery & getting bigger terminals' but it's a lot more hassle than it sounds. The wires don't reach once they have been chopped. Cheers. Mike M
Strange, both my sups have had the large clamps as stock but with lead adapters inside them to allow them to fit the battery with the small terminals. That's how I got away with using the big clamp from halfords.
Kieran
I've got a UK battery in mine now after the last one died - just had to poke a little shim thing out of the clamp to make it fit.
Dr_Doom
So looks like i need part number T90982-05037 and then a reducer shim to make it fit. Anyone know where i can get one of the reducers? Will a normal car shop have them?
Mike M
You sure it's not already there in the broken clamp?
Guest mk47
i read somewhere that you can use solder to fill the gap between the terminal and the clamp. may be of use to you if you cant find a shim thing.
