What IS the safe boost to run at?

Start off with, mines a UK. Now i was reading an old Banzai mag 2day and found an article in the back in the FAQ/Q&A section.

This lad had bought a UK Supra, and wanted to know what he could do to it... So Banzai proceeded to say the BPU parts, upgrade intercooler and i think a F-CON was mentioned. Then it said 'you'll be able to run the maximum of 1.5Bar of boost that the UK Turbo's can cope with'

cos i know u need to run the Jap's at 1.2 and the Uk's can go 1.3

you can acctually go maks 1.5.. Mine max out at 1.45 (euro edition, think its the same as uk). Its no safe for the turbo to go 1.5 all the time though so as the rest of the fellas here is saying you can safely drive around at 1.34

I would say that its not the injectors maxing out you have to worry about on a 550cc system. Its the heat that the compressor will start to generate when you start to push it way beyond its operating limit. Each individual compressor is going to be a little bit different but not enough to allow 1.5 bar on one and not on another. If you really want to maximise your boost then take the car to a dyno and run it at 1.3 bar. Follow the graph and the point that you make max power at and the power tails off rapidly from is your best max boost and you should limit the car to that boost level.

Is this the same for the US models

Yep, US/UK/Euro spec are all the same (well, at least the turbos' are!)

Jspec, you do not want more than 1.2bar. I recommend the Thor FCD as it raises fuel cut to 1.25bar rather than removing it completely like units from HKS.

yes, depending on condition and how you do it.

You may find that over 1.3 bar there is no extra airflow though (and consequently no extra power).

Just extra heat (and risk of failure)
