TLicense Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 The flywheel itself doesn't rattle. It's a solid lump of metal. It's the springs in the friction plate that rattle. I was told that it's the "idle arm" in the gearbox that rattles because the engine vibration's are transmitted directly to the gearbox rather than damped by the dual mass of the stock flywheel.
