Mas
I just received my new Goodridge brake hoses and wanted to know how easy are they to fit? I assume they are a direct swap but have heared in the past how pain in the ass they can be to fit sometimes !! I also tried to find an old posting here about the fitting guide but nothing, so Can some one please advise. Cheers Mas
uk-rich
DO NOT over tighten them into the calipers, or you will crack them
Angarak
Make sure you have good clearance from the wheels so the tyres don't rub the brakeline. On your fronts, make sure you can go from lock-to-lock without any kinks or straining in the hoses. You may have to adjust the position of the fixing brackets on the lines (can't remember whether it was the fronts or rears that I had to adjust on mine), I had to lube the outer plastic coating and slowly wiggle the bracket up the line so I didnt damage the plastic coating or screw up the braided hose. RobSheffield
There is a set on ebay - there is something to do with the locators on them - what is that about?
TrickTT
You need the spring clips from the locators on the stock lines at the rear. Do not whack them off with a screwdriver and watch them bounce half way across the road:eyebrows:
Gordon F
You need to be very careful fitting them to the solid bundy lines on the car. Screwing the bundy fitting on to the hose can feel very vague, and it is easy to cross thread. Also, as said before, there are no locators on the Goodridge lines, so you will need to use cable ties to route them correctly.
Rajinder
The only drawback of the Goodridge is that you can easily cross thread them when fixing them on the brake lines because they do not have many threads on them.
Mas
Thanks for the replys guys, I think Im not good enough to do this TBH and will leave it to get them done properly at the garage when Im there next time
ajazyasin
The only drawback of the Goodridge is that you can easily cross thread them when fixing them on the brake lines because they do not have many threads on them. The above mentioned is the only thing that would raise any concern. If you just take care is a piss easy job. It takes longer to raise the car and take the wheel off - back on again and lower, than it does to do the job.
