Max Headroom
The only people it will hit badly are those people in rural areas that have to rely on a car to get anywhere because this bunch of wa***rs have a clue what an integrated transport system was if it came up and slapped them in the face. I live in a small village where there is a bus in the morning and one in the evening, no trains, no shops or post office. So once again this "caring government" is targeting those on low income the old and those living in rural areas
Angarak
Mr Brown thinks his 'green taxes' will make him popular for the PM job. A small portion of the money raised from Road Tax and Petrol Tax is put back into the roads, the rest is pissed away on non-road related stuff. How can they claim they dont have enough money to maintain the roads? Also, the idea of him introducing this 'green tax' on fuel (and air travel too!) is a p*ss take. How is taxing the UK motorists going to save the world?....when the likes of America, China, Russia and India are far bigger polluters than us? (and we all know the US dont like the Kyoto agreement...and they have cheaper fuel!) Im one more step closer to buying a gun to..... The public transport system at the moment is crap, buses and trains run late, thats if they run at all (oh no - leaves on the track - no trains today)...and theyre over-priced. It'll never happen, but I would love everyone with a car in the UK to leave their car at home one day and use public transport....because the country would come to a grinding halt and then the Government will realise how thick they are and no doubt ask people to use cars again. The day a bus or train can take me from my door to my destination is the day I'll use public transport.
Dazzi
Why don't they use the money for schools instead of giving the mps big bonuses?
