Elliot
Both of these are from my car ('95 J-Spec) I have no idea if either of them work, so wanted to test them & then offer them for sale. I've had an electrician use his multimeter thingimajig & he said they were fine, but is there any way I can test them to make sure they are fine mechanically? ie make the aerial go up, or make the rear wiper turn, or even just test the motors are working? Might sound stupid, but I never listened at school! I suppose an easy option would be to plug them back in, but don't want to risk blowing the car (or myself!) up! Thanks
Nic
Drew, the easiest way would be to attach them directly to the battery or other 12V supply with a couple of wires. Reversing the polarity of the wiring will make them go in the opposite direction.

One showing what wires to use, and where to attach them etc How do people learn these things?! At school? I don't remember doing anything like this! lol
Elliot
Anymore help offered please? Wanna get rid of these...
Bob
Not sure about the winder, but on the aerial there should be two pins. Connect one of these to earth and one to live, and see if the motor works. Swap them round and it should work the other way. That's how I installed my new aerial mast

Bob
I used a couple of wires going to my battery jump-starter pack thing - it's not strong enough to be any use with the soop, but it's a portable, rechargeable, switchable 12v supply that I can use for buggering about with electrics If you haven't got something like that, just use a couple of wires attached to your car battery; same thing, really

Elliot
Careful you don't touch them together or touch something you shouldn't. Hmm, the two pins seem too close for my liking, so think I'll be giving the car battery one a miss! Maybe someone I know has a battery pack I can use. Is there nothing around the home I can fashion A-Team style out of the garage?!
