DamanC
Bit of a random one this, but ive never been involved with anything like this so im looking for advise as there isnt a world outside of here A couple of weeks ago i brought a TRD spoiler from a trader here (before you ask im not going to disclose who it is) and the condition was described as "spoiler is ok, just has a slight crack in the paint". Now to me that means thats its fine and there is a slight crack in the paint, does it to everyone else? Going on this you would expect it to be in good enough condition to wack it staright on the car or at worst repair/repaint the part that has the slight crack. Well when the spoiler turnt up it was far from described, all kinds of scratches and chunks of paint missing, without a doubt the whole thing would need stripping down and repainting, a price i cirtainly didnt expect to have to shell out. Now, TRD spoilers come in 3 parts. When Nic or anyone else posts these out you would cirtainly expect them to be packaged along these lines? But to make sure there wasnt a problem i coughed up £20 to have it insured and sent, plus the member in question was slightly hesitant to post it uninsured. well a week later it arrived, packaged erm 'differently' as you would expect; http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/7802/spa0202lo8.jpg Guess what? yup that right, it got damaged in transit. There is now a gash about an inch a half long missing from the middle of the center balde. http://img111.imageshack.us/img111/1260/spa0205sy1.jpg http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/5606/spa0204go0.jpg This interesting packaging has come about because the center blade is still attached to one of the side parts........why? Well someone has had a go at removing the two sections and rounded off one of the two bolts that hold them together. These are not comming apart easily. Ive spend a good half hour and as too has my friend, who just so happens works in the bodyshop trade, trying to get this bolt out. It didnt happen and the only way around this is to grind the head off, yet more pissing about or more than likely more expense to myself. I was not told about this siamese issue until i had actually recieved the spoiler. The receptionist at my work signed for the package and apparently because of this the logistics company (TNT) in question will therefore have nothing to do withthe damage. A worthy £20 spent then, but this i can accept. In summary a described TRD spoiler as "spoiler is ok, just has a slight crack in the paint" has turnt out to need repainting, need a repair/replacement centerblade and have the bolt ginded off. Now i have been in contact with the trader in question, actually rephase that, the traders work collegue (not on here) and explained the situation, and a resolution has been offered. However, without not dealing with anything remotely like this i am unsure what i should be expecting. Should i just shut up and get on with the repainting, repair/replace center section and grinding? If not what kind of resolution would be a fair one? This post is by no means a rant towards the trader in question, i just want to know where i stand. Cheers for reading the warble guys
Tom
Shame mate not nice at all but at the packaging! like wtf? Out of order really, I'd send back and get a full refund.
Animal
That packaging is awful. You'd expect that kind of thing from Lazy Joe Public on fleabay, but from a trader that's shocking. I'd be expecting a full refund at the very least.
Jake
It's the seller's responsibility to get it to you in good condition. He's legally obliged to refund or replace. I'm sure Jez will sort you out OK
Gamer
I would ask for a refund or a replacement. At the very least a partial refund so you can correct the errors.
Class One
Send it back at sellers expense and demand a refund and don't forget to fill out i-Trader feedback if they're on here too.
Pig
I would say FULL refund, including your postage costs. That would be a chance for the trader to put it right properly.
Animal
don't forget to fill out i-Trader feedback if they're on here too.

Rayman
Thats disgusting, like you say all to do with packaging at the end of the day!

Gaz Walker
I looked at the packing and then seen the TNT thing. For a moment I thought it was us(!), I even checked the invoices to see if we sold anything to you recently! Gaz.

garetheves
A:When you asked if you could buy it, i said yes, that would be fine but due to past experiences of the last 2 spoilers i've sent out being broken in transit, and ending up being out of pocket, I WILL NOT POST IT!!!!! So you'd have to collect it. However, you insisted this would be ok and you would take the risk. Surprise surprise, it turns up at your place smashed up. B:The damage when it was sent out was exactly how i described it, and in all fairness mate, for what you paid for it, was never gonna be perfect was it C:I've prompted you via pm to call me or steve 3 times, yet you dont bother, and a week later put this thread up slating me??! You want a refund? SO CALL 07779 725350 or 01327 263228!!!! Slow down mate, he didnt once actually name you or your company, nor gave any indication as to who it might be and secondly hes not actually slating, or even having a go at you, hes just asking where he stands on the delivery front. Hey no worries. I'm not ashamed to say it was us, i would have posted either way. My only problem is the fact i've said i'll sort something out if Daman could phone to speak to myself or steve personally, then this thread appears. I've never gone sour on a deal and will always sort problems out. I'm on first name terms with the claims girl at TNT.
CJ
This is where things get messy and out of hand eh? Reading Jezzy's post, it seems as if he has tried to do the right thing and get the customer to call so that it can be sorted out but failed. And yet as soon as member posts up, folks jump on the bandwagon to have a go at a trader without knowing both sides of the story. In my experience, Jezzy has always been fair and above board in every deal I have done with him. Seems he wants to be the same here but if people fail to communicate, then there isn't a lot he can do eh? As an aside, if the goods were insured and arrived damaged, why didn't it just go straight in as a claim with the couriers?

Jezz
TNT are awfull to be honest. They must play football with all my breakable parcels. And putting fragile labels on is asking for trouble!

The people i send things to are told to sign as unchecked. That is the safest way by far. Mind you, it is a crap get out for the courier people eh? I mean, how often do they say "sign here but beware that you are signing away any rights to a claim in the future"!

Why does it have to turn into a "having a go at the traders" post again when obviously from the first post it isn't (IMO).

But what I don't understand is why he didn't just speak to the trader and then there would have been no need to even post I know he says he did but according to jezzy, he is waiting for some form of communication.
