cowboy bebop
You guys should feel the response this thing has on the street. It feels pulls like a freight train, and sounds different from any other Supra out there. It's quiet at idle, to where two people can hold a normal conversation, and raw at full throttle. EdMorris
It does look sexy Eric. I love the symmetry of the setup and the hidden wires etc. Btw, your oil filler neck is much shorter than mine. I was looking at that earlier funnily enough and wondering if it will clear the bonnet. Now I've seen yours I may get it cut down anyway to be sure. cowboy bebop
Hi Ed, The stock height neck will clear, but it's close. At the last minute, I cut mine down to a shorty just so it had a more contemporary look. Thanks!! Eric
Dave_SZ-R
Hi cowboy bebop, I do believe that is my favourite engine bay of all time, just stunning. Where about in the States are you, (sorry if this has been mentioned already!) I go over there every year- best holiday in the world bar none! caseys
Hey Eric, I keep coming back to this thread and just sit there in pure awe/envy. How much is one of these blocks to ship over to the UK? A spec I could just drop in with all pumps, belts, ancilliaries etc bar turbos. Please PM me a price inc delivery and also a $ price so I can work out where my delta would be with the exchange rate to be able to buy one of these blocks. I remember Ed has a thread, but I would assume prices have fluctuated a bit.
EdMorris
Hey Eric, I keep coming back to this thread and just sit there in pure awe/envy. How much is one of these blocks to ship over to the UK? A spec I could just drop in with all pumps, belts, ancilliaries etc bar turbos. Please PM me a price inc delivery and also a $ price so I can work out where my delta would be with the exchange rate to be able to buy one of these blocks. I remember Ed has a thread, but I would assume prices have fluctuated a bit. If you go ahead with one of these, let me know and I can help you out with the niggly bits. I've learned loads doing it myself. You won't regret it once you see it sitting pretty in the engine bay.
cowboy bebop
Ed it was good taking with you this morning, hopefully what we talked about will work well. Thanks again! Eric
EdMorris
Indeed, nice chatting. I think I'm gonna get a plate made up anyway as I don't like how much tension is on the gearbox rubber. If you check my build thread I'm just about to upload some pics to explain things. Cheers.
cowboy bebop
I believe the engine bay is done. To keep the heat in check, I've wrapped the whole turbo kit. It helps out a ton, and also I've installed these snazzy scrazzy heat shields for the turbo housing.
MarkR
Looks better with those shields!
cowboy bebop
I'm liking them as well I'm about to take the car out for a spin this moring to stretch it's legs a little, so we'll see how the shields work. Edit: The shields work great as well as the heat wrapping. After driving in town for 30 minutes, and doing a couple of pulls, I parked the car. The shields were warm as expected, but I coupld hold my finger to them. Edited July 3, 2009 by cowboy bebop (see edit history)

cowboy bebop
Yeah, I'm no television presenter, so keeping that in mind the car is the star and not me. I wish the batteries wouldn't have gone out as I did the 2nd gear pull. Still fun thoguh. Eric
Guigsy
arg. such an annoying place for the vid to end. lol i sware that little road looks familiar to me. but then... a lot of the roads in florida look similar to me
cowboy bebop
I know, I was pissed that the batteries died out right where it did. But still it should give a good idea of what it's like to drive the car. Eric
