Guest Mendoza
i want a turbo that i can produce a maximum of 700whp on but that will be running on 500whp most of the time and has the best response/least lag possible I have been recomended the T67 with a .68 a/r I would lke to know what else there is that might accomplish the task also i have decided to go with 256 or 264 cams
adi2009
If 700whp is your goal then you would definately need a T67. And if you would want minimum lag then probably a T67DBB (ball bearing). However, *I think* a T61 could produce 500whp and would probably be considerably more responsive than the T67. I ve just purchased a PT61 turbo for a project on my spare engine. tooquicktostop
I had the HKS T04Z on my Skyline and it produced 735 BHP at the fly and had a quick spool, IMO anymore on a RWD car is going to be difficult to get the power down ?
Guest Mendoza
735 at the fly is a bit more than i wanted but good info thanks

Guest Mendoza
my apologies i had whp and fly confused for a moment i forgot about parasitic loss in the drive system at what rpm did the T04Z start producing positive boost and when does it reach max boost

Guest Mendoza
so is the same turbo more or less responsive on different sized engines e.g. 2.6L Vs3.0L
Nic
so is the same turbo more or less responsive on different sized engines e.g. 2.6L Vs3.0L The bigger the engine, the more responsive a given turbo will be.
Guest Mendoza
so the T04Z Tooquick had on his skyline will be more responsive on a supra because the skyline is a 2.6L and the supra is a 3.0L cool great help (only problem is i haven't bought the car yet just in the planning stages)

Guest Mendoza
SupraGold has been duly PMd with more questions than a maths test Tooquick what sort of figures are you making on the T04R rpm for 1st positive boost rpm max boost top hp etc (e.g. anything else you think i might find interesting or useful)

Now the thread makes no sense. Why are you deciding on cams when you don't even have a turbo chosen? Questions to ask 1st are what ECU, what internals, boost, fuel, gearbox, etc.... Guest Mendoza
I edited to correct a mistake I made in the a/r of the turbo in the original post I haven't 'decided' on cams yet just narrowed the options baased on my most likely options for turbos i have got a fair idea about ECU's Boost and internals that i want to run already i'm just trying to fill the gaps in my plans also these plans are evolving over a long period of time and they are by no means finalised if things prove to not be able to be done in the manner that i originally envisioned then i will change the plans accordingly
