Hylomar for the flange, Loctite 577 thread sealant for the thread, a local hydraulic factor should be able to sell you this or an equivalent, check the yellow pages

 

Good choice, I love Hylomar, it's been perfect for any intended application, and if you get the (hard to find) remover, it's easy to get residue off things when rebuilding. Loctite hydraulic seal is far safer than PTFE tape, which can tear off inside fitings and get where it should not.
