bungy
OK before I start I have done a search for BPU and yes I have read what I can but need a little help. My car is fully serviced and I have just had a Nur spec R exhaust fitted with second de-cat. I want to keep the first cat in. There is a performance intake filter and I realise I need a boost gauge to monitor whats happening. What is the next logical step to take and any thoughts as to products and gains. My car is a J spec TT with 69k miles and running well, what will this be putting out in terms of a rough guess to BHP. Thanks for any constructive help. dangerous brain
Yeah straight away walbro fuel pump and colder running plugs mate. £
bungy
Cheers for that. Is the pump for improving fuel pressure or just making it more consistant. As for the plugs what sort of spec am I looking for.
dangerous brain
Erm don't quote me but IK24 iridiums spring to mind? The fuel pump is to ensure that the amount of fuel your engine needs now you've upped the boost actually gets there chap.
Ric
if your looking to go BPU check the condition of your intercooler, make sure this can take the extra you will be asking from your car.

Ric
aie, but not fully if he isnt going to remove the first cat and has no boost controller his car will basically be running stock boost levels if he doesent purchase a first decat or boostcontroller. bungy
This is the information I needed as I don't want the hassle of replacing the first cat for mot's (at least not untill they are biannual). So first priority is to replace the fuel Pp then with different plugs and a boost gauge.
ivan
Boost gauge first Bungy.
dangerous brain
I beg to differ, plugs first, then pump, then boost gauge. Its known that the boost only creeps away after taking both cats out. One out may produce about 1.0 bar of boost with a decent flowing exhaust.
bungy
Boost gauge, walpro and plugs soon as possible then.
