Guest SupraV
Im new here and im sure this has been discussed before, over and over. Right now im in a debate about the 2. I keep being told that the jspec Supras indeed have 276hp/280ps opposed to the usdm with 320hp. I know about the whole gentlemen's agreement too and was just wondering who here has had a jspec TT Supra and had it dyno'd stock? or has actual facts that the jspec Supra does indeed have more than 300bhp stock. They are basing this because of the whole 1/4 mile time. Here in the US I believe its 13.6 while Jspec is 13.8 Help me with my debate so I can prove some of these Americans wrong. terribleturner
Doug/Class One put his bone stock J-Spec TT on a set of reliable rollers over here and he got a near perfect 320bhp i belive, im sure if you contact him he may have the graph still. silvershark44
My jspec supra dyno'd 300bhp exactly with an old crumbly intercooler. should push 320 easily once i get a new one the 280bhp thing is becuase in japan you arent allowed to make cars faster than that. So toyota justy lied and said they werent over 280bhp
Matt Harwood
I too have seen enough proof in the past to believe that the power levels are very close and similar. The difference I have seen is that the torque curve on the JDM car peaks a lot earlier than the Export spec. I'd also say that at BPU levels, over here, the JDM cars seem to be able to do quicker 1/4s than the UK counterparts. Not by a lot, and it may just be that there are mre JDM cars over here that have put their cars on the track.

Homer
Was that SRR? Seen very mixed results from them. I'll have to check them out for myself one time next year maybe. I think you're mistaken, SRR have provided extremely consistent results for all specs of cars. They are the only RR I feel confident in. There were a couple of times when a few got unexpected results (i.e. myself and Terribleturner) but at least in my case it was caused by a genuine problem with the car, probably for James too (as it went bang not too long after!) Bobbeh
I might just do that. I believe they use the same dyno as they had at G-Force so it would be good to compare
Matt Harwood
I might be up for that too I like Dyno Dynamics roller too. In fact, they're the only ones I wholeheartedly trust.

I believe they use the same dyno as they had at G-Force so it would be good to compare Same thing, though I can assure you SRR have rather more experience with Supra's. Its the auto's most RR struggle with, the manuals are a piece of cake (apparently). I might be up for that too Nice one Matt, hope you can make the trip over. Here's the thread, though you'll probably have to register to sign up: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=326183&f=71&h=0 Last time there was a nice range of cars too look at too

Quick correction on the experiance of G-Force though Homer, it was bought by Dave Stone earlier this year, Dave has worked on Supras since they were launched at the Aylesbury Toyota dealership, the chap certainly knows his stuff. Bobbeh- most people accuse SRR of under-reading, namely disgruntled owners of Integras etc. My stock car managed 330bhp so if they under-read I'm happy
