lockys96
i look forward to seeing what mpg gains i get from this. i soaked the nuts in some wd40 before i had a go at them, dont want to start shearing stuff off. it came out rather easy apart from the tight space you have to move in there. you need a long 12mm socket and racket, i took the plastic filter pipe off to gain better access. now the old one looked very tired and black. will post results when i go through another £30 of fuel i have been getting 140miles on £30 before, will see how it goes:)
silvershark44
£140 to a full tank! That is bad, the worst ive had is about 200 miles. I look forward to hearing about any success though!
lockys96
i did say for £30 of fuel lad
lockys96
and i dont have a tank to take £140 worth of fuel unless its that new 102 ron stuff from bp which is like £2.49 per litre

SoundWave
yeh mate, anything that might get the fuel bills lower (without putting a brick under the accelerator) can't be bad!

RobSheffield
u know what i meant 140 miles Still, its not 140 miles to a tank, its 140 miles to £30, which is around a half a tank.
bungy
How long did it take to change your sensor and how would you rate it in difficulty ie. 1 spanner easy and 5 spanners hard.
Jake
How long did it take to change your sensor and how would you rate it in difficulty ie. 1 spanner easy and 5 spanners hard. It's a five minute job. 2 nuts and one electrical connector to undo. Only thing is the engine needs to be stone cold else you will burn yourself.
lockys96
rating is a 2spanner job. as its hard to get the spanner in there.plus you should remove the filter pipe and one of the clips was a pain to get out on the 02 sensor loom. so i cut it with some snips, as its all replaced by the new loom. will post results soon
GazzaGSi
Do you need to reset the ECU once changed? How's the economy now? Is it better?

lockys96
Do you need to reset the ECU once changed? How's the economy now? Is it better? dont know yet. and perhaps i should reset the ecu, but id have thought with the new sensor in place it would work straight away. someone tell me otherwise:d
Nic
dont know yet. and perhaps i should reset the ecu, but id have thought with the new sensor in place it would work straight away. someone tell me otherwise:d I remember reading that the ECU goes into (rich) default mode when it doesn't receive a good signal from the O2 sensor, which is the cause of the poor fuel economy. It can't do any harm resetting it.
lockys96
is it just remove the battery and reconnect?
supRo
is it just remove the battery and reconnect? You just need to pull out the two green EFI fuses (30amp) for 2 mins On my car I saw the benefits straight away! Car was much more economical!
