Rayman
This is terrible, first reaction is to avoid any collision with a car and in this instance it would have been better to let him hit you. Shocking that the other driver did not stop, he would have known that he put you off the road. The bastard!!
cainhead
The only reason I can think of to why he did not stop is that I was slightly behind him as he swerved, and by the time he would of looked round, I had dissappeared accross the curb and up the bank. Just got back from the police station and they said, that because there was no collision and no damage to any road signs etc etc, there was nothing they could do. Seems like I would of been better of hitting him, but like you say, you try and do what you think is right, by not colliding.
grahamc
damn, that is horrible!! That bumper is wrecked!! Was there a FMIC behind that? Very lucky to thread through that gap... well done!!! next time, just hit them.
cainhead
no fmic, so all good there. I am still amazed at getting through. Looks like it was made to measure for supra's. Also lucky enough the car was low enough to get under the corner of the road sign.
gjp
All Volvo drivers should be banned . TOS-ERS:tomato:
Dragonlady
Really sorry to hear, but looking at the pics, one of the legs of that sign is bent, did you not clip it? if so, police can be involved. They would then have to find the volvo involved. Good luck!

cainhead
no im positive i didn't hit it. I know its bent but it would of taken a good whack to bend it that much, and just asked the misses who was in the passenger seat and she said she would of felt it. I was concerntrating on missing it.[sHOCK][/sHOCK]
supra steveo
shit mate totally feel for you, dont know what stopped you from getting straight back on the road and chasing him then running him off the road i would go back to the area and see if there is any cctv cams any where, its amazing how many times you are caught on camera a day
Kranz
You did a really good job of missing all that road furnature! Shame the suspension doesn't automatically raise and clear the kerb & let you ride up that mound You may want to consider asking about prosecuting the other driver for dangerous driving (or at the least careless and inconsiderate driving)? Make a point of it if you go into the police station, or call them. If there is a camera up the road (traffic CCTV type, or ANPR.....not Gatso its unlikely a doddery old Volvo driver would have set it off!) then they will have the index of the vehicle. This is your best evidence Speak to your insurance company about it too as they may look into a private prosecution (though unlikely). Any council or police CCTV cameras record on time lapse and the footage is held for 28 days, but best be quick just in case!

Suprash
Yeah gutted for you over this Andrew, funny thing is I only saw you 10mins before as you left your house on the way past my work, then your calling me up telling me you have crashed........ Glad you got the car home ok, just keep your fingers crossed nothing else underneath is damaged........ No worries about shooting out from work mate, always here to help a fellow Supra in distress, unlike the other Supra that floated straight past you..... dangerous brain
Do you drive in cartoon land lol......... Mate looking at the last photo posted that embankment looks almost cliff like at the right hand end. If that bank was soft its very feasible the nose of such a pointy and low car could stick into it. It would only take it to bite slightly and the cars inertia would do the rest. With the front effectively stopped the back would keep gong the only direction it could, straight over the top smashing the roof straight onto the top of the embankment. Its one of the reasons offroaders are flat at the front.
JustGav
Unlucky chap, I know that section of road as well, and people drove all of the place there. Luckily you are okay. PS : I'm pretty sure that sign was bent before, but given the number of roundabouts here, I could be thinking of another one.
Ewen
Yeesh lucky you went up that embankment and not nose first into it and end-onning it. Dave Haggas
About 3yrs ago driving from Hook to Basingstoke on the A30,going down the hill to the Black dam roundabout, the road goes from a single lane to a two lane. The traffic is stopped in the left lane as Im in the right lane, crawling to the traffic lights. Some woman decides to pull into the lane that I was in,just when Im alongside to her!Her front bumper straight into the back of my passenger door, into the rear wing/sideskirt piece and onto the rear wing past the rear wheel![sHOCK][/sHOCK]How she missed a big silver supra next to her,god knows.I decide to indicate right as there is a single track road there(and one way only)I stop the car and get out to see her drive off as the traffic lights have changed. Was I f~cking mad or what.So I know exactly how you feel mate.It makes you want to kill........
