Chris Wilson
Anyone know what cap the Koyo aftermarket rads use? A customer has supplied one, and the stock cap is too short. I am also after one radiator bottom support rubber, the one that sits on the lower crossmember, if anone has one. Thanks.
Ibrar Jabbar
Chris, I realised the standard cap was the wrong type when the water in the expansion bottle started boiling over, I fitted a standard MKIII Supra cap and it done the trick. I have now changed to a 1.3 bar TRD cap (Type S) which works a treat.
Chris Wilson
Hi Ibrar, there must be 2 types of MKIII cap then, as I tried a MKII and it was the same as a MKIV. I think i came across this before when i used to do MKIII Supras. I can't recall if I need an early or late MKIII cap, I'll have a look in some parts books, thanks. See you the bits ASAP. Sheefa
Chris, As per our conversation, rubber support should be in glove box, one of them, or in the drivers side inner door handle. I'll drop Pysmon a PM as he has fitted a Koyo Rad too and may know where else to look for the cap mate. Then again, doesn't it have a TRD top rad cap - although this too obviously only fits the stock rads? Reply from Psymon Chris - thanks Pysmon, much appreciated ______________________________________________________ Hi Greg Ok, I already had a TRD 1.3 TRD one on my car. So unsure about stock fitment but both should fit. I had problems with it fitting, and found that the cast for the rad mouth for the cap was a bit rough. Got the trusty ole file out and after a bit of filing the TRD fitted. Robert, who has the aristo, also had the same problem but again it did fit. My prob was the lugs that the cap uses to pull down on where to thick so the cap would not tignten fully. These needed to be filed a bit thinner in order for it to make a tight seal. This is after I bought a second TRD cap cause I thought the first was broken (doh) Hope this helps... Si Greg, No probs Any probs get Chris to give me a ring, as I had a nightmare, to start with , with this..... Also checked supra forum etc.. did my head in for bout 2 weeks and cost me 15 quid for a cap I didn't need to replace. My number is 01752 311030 or 07725173241 Thanks, Si. _________________________________________________________ Thanks Greg

Chris Wilson
The cap for the stock rads is totally different. I think a MKIII cap may fit, but can't find out until next week, thanks anyway.
