Its just IMO if you are going to buy new wheels you might as well get some wider rubber on there at the same for the difference in price. It looks better and gives more traction, in a straight line at least.
outatime
I agree, I was just saying that you can have the 8/9" combo If it were me, I would go a bit wider - at least to the stock UK/US wheel sizes - 8.5 front, 9.5 rear. Or, easier, just get some stock wheels.
Castle
what about if i was to go 9" back and front??
outatime
Not a good idea, its best to keep the front/back width ratio as close to stock as possible.

outatime
Not sure about those sizes, surely the aspect (45 bit) would to be different front/back to maintain the correct rolling radius? Check with the people you are getting the wheels from. Out of those tyres, the Toyos and Pirellis are best. Toyo are still a budget brand and the Pirellis wear quickly... Have a look at mytyres.co.uk, GYF1s are about 140 each in the narrower 18 sizes.
outatime
Have a look at this website, there is a rolling radius calculator at the bottom where you put in the stock tyre sizes and the new tyre sizes: http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html IIRC, the 245s need to have a 40 aspect.
