Daston
will sign when their site is less busy. Didnt think it was going to cost that much to be honest why dont they ditch tax disks and increase the tax on fuel like they used too. sdavies
Wow - what a huge spam list! My life would be empty without all the spam I get, it makes me feel like people actually want to communicate their views with me - as an individual - I feel accepted by society. I just love the thrill of rifling through it every morning... afternoon... evening. Leaves me with a nice warm feeling all over I wonder what No. 10 would spam me about - looking forward to it - would make a change from all the Nigerian scams and "m4k3 yUr d1ck h4rdr and b1ggr, 500% more volume, shE w1ll luvv you more!" messages..... Ian C
Blair's spam would just be: "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." "Love us. We are good." (repeat until believed like nazi propaganda) And for those who say "Yes, please rape my privacy and freedom! For I have nothing to hide!", let me install video cameras in your home so I can monitor you every minute of the day and make sure you aren't a criminal. If you've got nothing to hide, you should accept this -Ian
dangerous brain
Also let me know what you think, i cant be the only one who is sick of getting taxed for living by a thieving Government who spend all day thinking of more ways to screw me out of my hard earned cash *** Edit nice one guys ***** You're not mate. I voted with my feet and live in Holland now. I have no intention of ever coming back and a serious amount of fellow Brits are doing the same. Many people have had enough of the way the UK is going and are just straight up leaving.
Ark
It's a nice idea, but I'm betting that even if every driver in the country signed the petition, blair would ignore it based on some flimsy pretext like "the petition facility was only a beta test site"

Dragonball
I am really torn on this one - hypocrite that I am The evidence is that at some time or another we have to start to do something about the threat of global warming etc and the legacy we will leave We have too many cars on the road - we have to reduce them So what would you suggest... We could go the Bush / USA route - lets bury our heads and it (and the politcial pressure from the petrol companies etc) will go away China and India - feck you... we are developing and dont tell us what to do! Brazil - feck off who cares that we are killing the lungs of the world - our farmers want to get washed away... A difficult one Discuss... Daston
ok so what would global warming do?? Melt the ice caps? So we have too much water and the only thing mar's needs to create life and atmospher over the next 5million years is water so why dont we ship some to there. As for all this waste and radioactive rubbish why dont we just launch it towards some distant star?, Ok so we would end up causing an intergalactic war for dropping some banna peel on the capital of some distant alien race but gotta be better than destoying our planet. Sorry its friday I'm board in work and had too many fizzy drinks
Pete
People need to use their cars to get to work etc so I can't see it reducing congestion much (which lets face it is only at rush times). People will just pay it. Besides it would just be a delay as the number of people driving will continue to increase so we'll still end up with congested roads! Better solution is improved rail networks. What it will do is reduce people doing leisure trips so we'll all be sat miserable at home. I'd say if it was to happen they need to base it on an average number of miles a day needed to get to work which would work out at the current Road tax rate. That way I'd pay far less on the kitcar, and about the same on the Supra Incidentally, I wonder how they'll record me whizzing around a race track in the kit? Daston
that is very true we dont pay tax when on a race track so how would that work, I dont think the govenment has worked this through, apparently 1 car sends over 500 pages worth of data on an average trip to work the data stream would be stupidly big
Ark
I still don't get why they don't see fuel tax as being the pay-per-mile tax...which we already pay. I mean it's not like we WANT to use the congested roads, but they are the only ones we have. Plus the govt is raping, sorry, taxing us for sitting in a stationary car, in addition to the 'per mile'. Surely that idea must give them orgasms. I also want to know why, if the govt wants to be green, they don't turn around and say things like: "as of next month it will be illegal to package food products in non-recyclable materials". Some actions like that could reap huge benefits.
dangerous brain
Ah having listened to the bull on the news just now it transpires that they want a rather more sophisticated system along the lines of charging a higher rate at busier times and less at slacker times. If it was a substitute system for the ridiculous tax level on fuel and road duty then I'd be kind of in favour of a system that would not be used to do you for speeding or report your whereabouts at any time.
