rovervi
Would love everyone to sign and make anyone you know aware, if you agree that is I don't normally feel it necessary to shout notices at everyone but... "The government’s proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. On top of this massive increase in tax, you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit you can expect an NIP with your monthly bill." If you care about our freedoms and stopping the constant bashing of the Car/Van/Bike User, please sign the petition on No 10's new website: It's all getting beyond a joke. Don't think it wont happen, pay as you go insurance is already a reality. The petition is below : http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax/ Some background from the BBC : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4610755.st Thats all, thanks Pete

Surely they would have to prove who was driving at the time unless they have cameras in the car too!!
ChrisSZ
So you buy one and leave it in the garage! Or cover the antenna so it can't connect! Or refuse to buy the bloody thing! The only way this can work realistically is if it is fitted as OEM and hooked into the ECU so that it HAS to be fitted in order for the car to drive! There would still be problems involved eg. will it stop the car from working if signal is lost/cut off? How will it work abroad etc.? Hopefully the Great British Public(???) will figure that enough is enough and call a halt to all the Big Brother stuff! Motorists, as a group of society, are (a) a huge group and (b) supply the government with VAST amounts of revenue - if there is a concerted, organised protest they would be stuffed!! Signed!!!! sdavies
Signed! I don't normally mind about ID cards, bimoetric data blah blah, on the whole I have fook all to hide- but this is a disturbing further move to auto-tax-buggery and big brotherism that is very much worrying everyone now... Extremely open to abuse and you can guarantee it will be appropriately mismanaged if it comes to fruition.

lockys96
bollocks to that. i enjoy the car as opposed to taking drugs etc. think it will result in a massive side effect, like a number of stabbings and pyscho behaviour. take the fun away from driving and people will find something else to do
