Ewen
They asked me a question and so I gave them an answer... Planning Dept. 'Ewen, whats happening with the 82 Yacht stainless badge ?. Is it sorted yet ?' Me. 'Yes, but then again no.... Art work for the badge etching is done by Company A, and will be sent to me direct tomorrow. I then have to send the art work to Company B. I (company C) have to give Company D a dwg from which to cut the stainless blanks, which will then be sent to Company B for them to etch, except............ Company D dont cut the plates themselves, they get Company E to cut the plates, from dwgs we (company C) supply, except.......... Company E dont actually cut the plates themselves, they send the dwgs out to some other company they use (company F) Assuming the plates are cut by company F, to the same size as the artwork done by company A and assuming said plates are then sent back to company E, then back to company D and hence back to company D who then send the said plates on to company B, and assuming company A forward the art work on to company B in time and assuming company A sent the artwork to company B in the right format, then we may end up with a couple of plaques on the side of the 82 Yacht ...........which apparently rust anyway. flukey-lukey
lol thats awsome... like somone else said, can't you just bypass all the companies that don't actually do anything with them apart from send them on?
Ewen
Odd as it may sound, sometimes its easier to stick with an existing supplier than source / vet / set up trade agreements with another new company. Its unusual to discover so many sub-suppliers lurking behind an order though.
flukey-lukey
Surely involving less companies or sub-suppliers would mean cheaper manufacturing costs for you guys and more profit for the company that actually makes/supplies them? it just doesn't seem logical the way its being done now lol
