veilsideTT
Will try and make it quick Im UK Auto 3Row FMIC Full De Cat Nur Spec EGR R.I.P IK24's running on Optimax only. Boost Gauge Reading 1.05Bar Max. Unsually 1bar. ive hit Fuel Cut Once (@1.05Bar) Waiting to be put on when i find time: TRL FCD, Apexi AVC-R, Apexi SAFC-II Basically, Am i pushing my luck running this way without the nessecary controllers or can the stock UK ECU handle what im currently throwing at it without the engine Detonating?? Also if it makes anydifference ive just fully rebuilt the engine with a brand new shortblock. Scott
Branners
1 bar on a UK spec is no problem at all, I run 1.3bar on mine and its not got the FMIC and its got 124,000 miles on it. JB
veilsideTT
excellent! When i get the FCD, AVCR & SAFCII installed i was going to run 1.2Bar max. Am i being a bit of a pussy or will i kill my turbos past that? Is the Stock fueling any good at handling over 1.2? Whats its limits?

Im willing to take the chance and run higher boost, theoretical limits of imports are 1.2bar, UK specs 1.3 bar (better fueling) but you just never know what it will do. I ran my old import up to 1.4bar on a regular basis and it only blew a turbo after I sold it, but running higher boost will shorten the life of the turbos and if your fuel pump or fuel filter is a little off you could hit problems. veilsideTT
Hummmmmm I will have to ponder on what i am to do when i get the controller and AFC set up i suppose. Im feeling 1.2Bar on one setting and my daily use setting would be 1bar. Its just annoying as ive got the boost bug now and ive hit 1.05 and cant really see that going to 1.2Bar is going to make a whole lot of difference with the AVC-R........ Or Will it??????? DUDE, Were you asking me if i was going Japfest or asking JB?
Ian C
You'd be pleasantly suprised at the difference between 1bar and 1.3bar Anything over that isn't gonna add much though. -Ian
veilsideTT
what sort of BHP (flywheel) should i be expecting to get from 1.2bar? My engine and my gearbox have had a full rebuild (new turbos too) and i would consider it all to be pretty strong now. if that makes any difference? Ian C
As a rough guide it's about 10-15bhp per 0.1bar of boost on stockers, but that takes into no account your fuelling, intercooling, charge temps, turbo efficiency etc etc If you can't feel it's faster, lower the boost again and save the wear and tear -Ian
veilsideTT
Ah i see. So any chance of hitting the 400BHP mark? Im thinking 0.7 to 1.2 = 0.5 bar 5 x 15Bhp = 75 Plus the 326 i already have!! Ya gotta be positive about these things aint ya! :D
