Thorin
Got this last night and played it in the house on my own with the lights out. Lost count of the number of times it scared the crap out of me seeing my own shadow moving across the wall or something!
Ric
its a great game between this and HL2 (and the addons ep1 etc) but most favortite 2 games
Alex
You're so last year It is a good game for the not so serious gamer like myself...but it's too linear and too samey all the way through for more hardcore gamers.... I enjoyed it...bullet time is great fun you can really get to pick your shot and see how far up the wall you can pin a bad guy with a nail

Ric
cs source is good. But the gameplay of hl2 and its episodes (cant wait for ep2 in the new year) is just somthing else and it carries the story on from hl1 fantasically. I run f.e.a.r on my radeon x1900 at pretty much every full setting @ 65fps average and that looks amazing. as does hl2 on a nice monitor at 16:
Thorin
My 17" CRT monitor will only do 1280x1024. Thinking of buying a 19"+, if I can still find decent CRT's anywhere! Still not keen on LCD native resolution, I play old games on emulators quite a bit which use funny resolutions, don't want them to look cack. Ric
mines the lg l203wt 21" widescreen Gives a native res of 1680x1050 @ 16:9 or 16:10 & 8ms cant remmeber which looks excellent i also use the DVI inputs, wether it makes a diffrence or not i dont know but its very crisp. The f engine thing is has on it too just bring the colours alive in games when u switch it on
garetheves
FEAR is a great game, may have to reinstall it and play it again. It is very jumpy in parts, especially towards the end there is a bit which literally had me pushing away from the desk on my wheely chair, took about 5 mins for my heart rate to settle down. Thorin
Yeah don't give away the story! Not very far into it, only had a brief play last night. I've just gone in with those other blokes who get killed off, then the little girl appears and the building blows up and you get blown out the hole in the side, and that's where I'm at. RedM
FEAR highlights just why games are so unrealistic. In reality I'd see the first dark corridor and go "fuck that shit" and head for the pub. You cannot do that in a game.
DamanC
The expansion is rather good too. They have played on the Original and improved it slightly

Daston
Fear was a good fun game, loved the little vids they do on the net of bravo team. Need to get a new monitor as I dont think my gfx card has stepped into first gear, run it with everything on at an average of 84fps however that is only on 1024x768. Thinking of getting a 19" next month.
leelbuk
The game is wicked - been out for ages but never got round to completing it - think I was at the bit with the rotating bridge last time I played, which I guess is fairly near the beginning. Multiplayer mode did it mostly for me, fast paced yet realistic. Wire it into my 32" lcd through DVI and put it through my 5.1 setup. Looks and sounds Ace! - my pc seems to run it all smoothly - XP 4600+ 2GB Ram Overclocked GeForce 7900 GTO looks so much better than it does on X360 which is a shame for console users - but anyone played Gears of War yet? Got it on 360 but wish I could play it on PC - Better graphics and a mouse always better to aim with! (sorry - hijack)

Have you run the GTX bios update? Is it MSI or eVGA?
leelbuk
Sorry mate - its an XFX so overclocked as standard - comes with warranty that way - don't see why you couldn't overclock yours using coolbits but I have no idea how tolerable you card will be. What manufacturer built your board?

What manufacturer built your board? MSI...full blown GTX cooler - it should work - I'm trying to find out how to flash the bios too though as it's *supposed* to be possible. It troubles me that the GTO isn't on the MSI website anymore...it's like they never made it! Yet I have a PC full of proof that I did.
