Lol, i read a little of that. o.k, so why didnt "god" just create woman completely black with no facial features then? instead of asking them to cover up? its man made nonsense.

Religion:

Started through lack of understanding and intelligence.

Continued and redeveloped over time for control and power

exists still for hope, power and control.

it does my head in because its stupid and regardless of what you say, its only done for control of women, and regardles of what these women believe, its wrong. why would you want to praise a god so petty and trivial that he wants women to cover up head to toe, the religion and any religion is full of "crap" and it does my head in that people follow blindly, its not there fault mind, they have been brainwashed from an early age, we are only a product of our environment. But it does my tree in, and people let it continue. I think the bulls*it that sleeps with the ritual such as that women teacher not removing her head gear to teach and claiming that she is wrongly done by for requesting it fuels the matter. if every woman wore that gear all the time how the hell would anyone know who anyone was, its ludicrous

 the above has been quoted to show just how open minded you are!... lets now dig a little deeper and help you overcome your prejudice....

"Lol, i read a little of that. o.k, so why didnt "god" just create woman completely black with no facial features then? instead of asking them to cover up? its man made nonsense."

honestly - i cant answer that as i'm not god.... but if you read a little of that artical - why not read the whole thing and answer the second part of the question yourself?

"Religion:

Started through lack of understanding and intelligence.

Continued and redeveloped over time for control and power

exists still for hope, power and control."

are you sure religion is a lack of intelligence and understanding? some of the best scientist, physists and elite in many many fields belive in god in one form or another - you really seem to have very little knowledge about the religion/existance of god your trying to critique.. quite honestly your making yourself look foolish - read up about what it is your trying to critise and maybe you'll be taken more seriously - ask youself this - if it was not for "religion" - most of the liberties and freedoms you enjoy would not of existed (yes its true - read up about it and you'll understand what i'm trying to tell you)

i'm not going to comment on any other religion or spiritual entity as i believe i'm not the best person to comment- but with regards to islam - unfortunatly people have and people will continue to exploit it and use it for the benifit of non other then themseleves - this indeed can be in some ways classed as capitalism ;) .... islam in its true form is about compassion, love, honour, dignity, respect for others, law, morality - so many diffrent things... again - read up about it and you'll have a better understanding.

"it does my head in because its stupid and regardless of what you say, its only done for control of women, and regardles of what these women believe, its wrong. "

ask youself - what rights did women have in this country 100 years ago? what rights and liberties were they denied 10 years ago? what discrimination and prejudice do they face today? - mate, islam addressed this by giving women and men the same rights as each other over 1400 years ago - do not look at how people are manipulating islam and using it for their own benifit - look at what islam is about in its true form!

"why would you want to praise a god so petty and trivial that he wants women to cover up head to toe, the religion and any religion is full of "crap" and it does my head in that people follow blindly, its not there fault mind, they have been brainwashed from an early age, we are only a product of our environment"

read that full artical and that will address your "concerns" about women who CHOOSE to be covered!.... as for being brainwashed etc at an early ago... can i ask you to enlighten YOURSELF and ask youself the question "WHY DO PEOPLE BOTH ATHIEST AND FROM OTHER FAITHS CHOOSE TO REVERT TO ISLAM AT VARIOUS AGES, FROM CHILDHOOD - ADULTHOOD OR OLD AGE" ?!!!! HOW HAVE THESE PEOPLE BEEN "BRAINWASHED"?!!

"But it does my tree in, and people let it continue. I think the bulls*it that sleeps with the ritual such as that women teacher not removing her head gear to teach and claiming that she is wrongly done by for requesting it fuels the matter. if every woman wore that gear all the time how the hell would anyone know who anyone was, its ludicrous"

:D - it does your tree in because its something you fear - because its something YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND! as for that woman teacher - i agree she took it too far - by the looks of things she wanted to push the system and get something out of it - THAT IS NOT ISLAMIC.... as for every woman wearing that "gear" - again... if you read the artical i asked you so kindly to read - you would of know its vital for a woman to cover her hair and her physical features from the neck down - nothing to do with the face - so you've still got your 90% body language incase you ever get stuck trying to understand ;) .... if women CHOOSE to cover their face entirely - that exactually what it is - THEIR CHOICE!

Well that's basically what I've been trying to say (why weren't you here yesterday!!! :D ). Then people still pick at it and say "What about the people who are already here and don't live by our rules? Should they be kicked out?" and other stupid things like "What are the rules you want them to live by?"!!!

I just want Muslims to take off their head gear when I tell them to. I could claim that I'm a man of science, science tells me it's bloody cold outside, so I'm wearing a balaclava as part of my Atheist religion - I bet you a million pounds I'd get asked to remove it by someone on the first day!!!

er... why should anyone do what YOU tell them to do? what rules DO you want people to live by? you don't even know what it is you want yet you choose to jump on the bandwagon every time someone else makes a statement which in one way or another seems ATLEAST plausable as a solution to your own dilemma (lack of understanding ;) )

You know - communism in TRUE form is also ideal system. Problem is with people - unfortunatelly you cannot have working system without people. Maybe islam in true form is superb and such, but I'm more interested in what all those fanatics doing with this "ideal religion", because this will affect me , not Koran itself. Just as a reminder - in christian religion all human being are equal also - noone had nothing against woman, it was medieval times, where all suddenly changed.

Actually I find buddism very interesting, at least here everything is understable, such "human" and noone trying to manipulate buddism philospohy to their benefits :)

They are not at all, it is same God, differences starting only when human element is included - all prophets, their books, interpretations and instructions. That's why I'm allergic to any kind of religion if demonstrated too intensive or when it starting to affect my private space. It is not that any of those religions are better or worse, it is how fanatics will affect others (and especially me!) by for example killing in name of God.

If you want to see something really twisted - look at Shia and Sunni fights - they killing each others in a name of same God lol!

Pengi, your reply to Matt; you're arguing how good religion is, but you're not mentioning the effects of human intervention, you talk as if it's the truth rather than the teaching.

I believe in a creator, I call myself an atheist because I refuse to call it a 'God', as this has connotations brought about by human designs. I do not follow one religion because they again have been designed - if we go back far enough - by one person, probably a man, who undoubtedly had his own opinions that got into the religion (could this be a reason for so many religions being so different but having the same end?).

I also agree that religion has had serious positive effects on our history, and the lack of religion now in the UK is at least partly the cause of so many scrotes on the streets!!!

But I don't agree with the extreme religious people who either force it onto you (jehovas witness' etc.) and on the other side the religious people who have strong rules within the religion that to outsiders (who maybe don't know all the details - like myself) may appear 'weird' or too controlling (Muslim is prime example).

You say I don't know what I want or what I mean, and I'm just a sheep. That's not true I just have trouble (and always have had) explaining myself properly, it always comes out wrong, and because I have odd principles (like not using the word God) people assume the wrong meaning to my words. You'll find contradiction across several of my posts because I try to adjust the way I'm explaining something, and again it sounds to be the opposite of what I was saying before.

Anyway...... I wish I had more time to learn more about different religions, like I said I was talking to a holy brotherhood member at work and it was really interesting. I'm not anti-religion by any means.

Nice pics Carlos. :)

Beautiful place, would love to visit again.

There seems to be a lot of bollocks talked about Venice, we never saw or heard of any trouble while we were there (was told bag snatches are rife), we were there for the hottest days of the year and no smell.

We stayed in a hotel overlooking St Mark's square and I proposed to Angela in the middle of it. :DWas fantastic sat drinking in the square at night listening to the two mini orchestra's trying to out play each other all night :)

Aw wow. Super :)

I heard all sorts, like money would disappear at a truly gobsmacking pace, but it wasn't like that at all. Sure, the restaurants were expensive, so we only went to two, but I was told coffees would be £7 each, and that it would smell etc.

I loved it, and the coffees and pizzas were cheap and utterly fantastic.

.......... :D

A classic :D

In Saudi a common way for men to meet women is for them to slip a mobile phone into the woman's handbag. They can then call them and arrange to meet, obviously not in a public place....

Very risky, get caught and you're really in the sh*t with the Muttawa. Even more risky is the women have to be fully veiled in public so you've only got the eyes to go on. All too easy to unwittingly arrange to meet a swamp donkey....!

I too was curious to your source on this - AFAIK - nobody has been let off the hook as yet? (even if people have been released). There were some serious searches going on around the area but a few days ago?? I thought evidence of explosives being tested on nearby wasteland had been uncovered - although who knows if this is to do with the case, could be unrelated. Not saying you are wrong - I just like to keep informed and want your source now now now :D (gets out hot lamp - ve vill make yoo talk).
