Fridge help

Recommended Posts

Ok, I know this is a serious car forum and all but does anyone know anything about fridge/freezers?

Ours seems to be on the blink. Ie everything on the very top of the fridge is warmish and everything in the draws at the bottom and even the bottom shelf is frozen :(

The freezer seems to be fine. Any ideas?

i had the same problem once. my car cd player would work but wouldnt show any text on the screens. so i sourced a small toothpick with which i depressed the reset button. all was fine after that :)

Check to see if other appliances work when plugged in the same socket.

If, on the other hand you mean that it doesn't seem as cold as it should be, but there are lights and humming noises still coming from it, and it is not much colder in there than in the room itself, daft as it sounds check that the door is closing properly and there are no bags trapped in the door seal. If there is a lot of ice in the freezer compartment, or yours is a "frost-free" machine, then it may simply need defrosting.

Mate I had a dual doobry whatnot frost free freezer and it was the gas was low with exactly the same symptoms. From the factory as it happens. I will put my money where my mouth is here and put a tenner nay twenty quid on it being the gas being low.

Edited to add

I said the gas was low to 3 seperate supposedly qualified technicians and they ignored me. After all what would I know I only work with airconditioning engineers :) Its only a sodding aerosol can wedged into the system to replenish it.
