Charlotte
Ok, I know this is a serious car forum and all but does anyone know anything about fridge/freezers? Ours seems to be on the blink. Ie everything on the very top of the fridge is warmish and everything in the draws at the bottom and even the bottom shelf is frozen The freezer seems to be fine. Any ideas? Charlotte
It's about 3 years old so that will have run out by now. I presume the next step we'll have to take is get a parts person out but I'm just wondering if there's any quick fixes.

Charlotte
It doesn't seem to be making much noise but the light is still on etc.
Guest mk47
perhaps you could try and reset it some how i had the same problem once. my car cd player would work but wouldnt show any text on the screens. so i sourced a small toothpick with which i depressed the reset button. all was fine after that
Gavstar
Check to see if other appliances work when plugged in the same socket. If, on the other hand you mean that it doesn't seem as cold as it should be, but there are lights and humming noises still coming from it, and it is not much colder in there than in the room itself, daft as it sounds check that the door is closing properly and there are no bags trapped in the door seal. If there is a lot of ice in the freezer compartment, or yours is a "frost-free" machine, then it may simply need defrosting.
Charlotte
It definitely works, just freezes everything in the fridge! the fridge and the freezer are separate.

dangerous brain
Needs regassing. The gas is low which means the average temperature of the inside keeps the fridge ticking over permanently. Where the gas isn't it gets no cooling where the gas is its working permanent which is why stuff freezes where the gas is and theres no cooling at the top where the gas aint. peter richards
its only got one compressor by the sounds of char , the gas isnt getting to the top part . so could be the compressors on the blink or a faulty valve that allows the gas up to the top appliance
Charlotte
Are you serious? Do you think it has anything to do with the fridge being balanced properly?
peter richards
these things share the gas so if the bottom is freezing , then the gas sounds ok , but for the fridge to work it needs the gas from the freezer section, i think its the valve that allows the gas up thats failed
dangerous brain
Mate I had a dual doobry whatnot frost free freezer and it was the gas was low with exactly the same symptoms. From the factory as it happens. I will put my money where my mouth is here and put a tenner nay twenty quid on it being the gas being low. Edited to add I said the gas was low to 3 seperate supposedly qualified technicians and they ignored me. After all what would I know I only work with airconditioning engineers Its only a sodding aerosol can wedged into the system to replenish it.
