Lights out around the heater controls - Update

Recommended Posts

I posted a while back to say that my back lights were out around the heater controls.

I've just noticed that they do come on, but go off one the ignition is switched on.

I have to admit that they looked good while they were on.

Any one got an idea why they go off when the ignition is on?

Many Thanks,

Paul.

I've also got this problem, sometimes the lights work, other times they dont, doesn't matter if the ignition is on or not with mine, sometimes they come on when i'm driving along. Matt Harwood has had a quick look at them before now, an cleaned all the bits up, so I think i'll get him to have another look.

I'll have to try the whack, but it's strange that they are on without the ignition and then off once it's on.

lol

i think mine may have been due to a loose connection as i'd had the dash off to remove the stereo and it didn't do it at all after refitting it.

ok, the heater back lights uses the same feed as all of the others (dash/switches etc...) so assuming there working OK, i guess your looking at a possible wiring snag.

wiring diagram for that is here

I'd be tempted to see if you could borrow another heater control unit as the first step before trying to chase wiring snags
