Guest robster23
Hi Guys, I've been searching on the forums for the last hour or so but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Firstly I would like to say that - I understand that mpg is not the most important aspect about owning a Supra, but it is part of the calculation. I suspect that 5 years ago we wouldn't have talked about it! However, I would like to get a good ballpark idea for the amount of fuel the car will consume compared to my current one! So if you wouldn't mind could you help me out? For example, my current car, a 2L saloon (boring as hell): Tank = 45L which is about 9 Gallons (I think) Approx 350 miles to a tank (combined) = 38.8mpg Can any one give me approximate figures for a NA manual please? You are all Supra Stars
Homer
NA and TT are pretty much the same if you are taking it easy. 18mpg town 22mpg average 28mpg cruise (TT is a little worse at around 24mpg IME) Obviously if you floor it the TT uses a massive amount of fuel, I've had less than 8mpg on a track day! Terminator
My TT -18mpg most of the time. Once got 23mpg, don't know how. 7-8mpg on the track.
Guest robster23
Thanks guys, Some folks are quoting higher figures, pushing the 30s with an NA. Obviously an NA will use the same as a TT if you're not on boost. Is anyone finding this?
SupraKid
i get 7-8 mpg on the road j/k
Rayman
Lol, if your worried about fuel consumption dont bother with the supra. There's too much temptation to open it up, im sure even with the NA! Its just not a car that can be driven lightly permanently, too many people tailgating you etc and other things. Sometimes you just need to rid them off your tail!
Daston
although to be fair in the weather these past few weeks that beast inside me that seems to plant my right foot has been sent to the naughty courner.
ndwgolf
i get 7-8 mpg on the road j/k Less than 3000 rpm i get 10-12 mpg boot it I get half

Bill Prawn
My TT -18mpg most of the time. Once got 23mpg, don't know how. 7-8mpg on the track. Snap:)
mattanna
Bank on 18mpg most of the time in an n/a possibly 20 putting new oxygen sensors on would keep things maybe at 20mpg, on boost knocks her down though, but then it does on any car
colsoop
The best i have managed to get was 27 mpg this was keeping it under 2.5k. Normal run around 18 - 20 When i first bought it around
martin_a
I can do 350 on a tank if it is a 70mph cruise in the NA - it takes 60litres of fuel though. 300 running about a bit. m.
Kranz
320 miles until the red light comes on on the daily run to work in heavy traffic with a bit of dual carriageway. 66 Litres to refill. That's just about 22 to the gallon.
Lukeyboy2k
Consistent 26/27 mpg on long motorway runs going the speed that probably wouldn't lose my license. Normally only 15mpg on work commute in fairly heavy traffic in London. Stock J-spec TT.
Mike B
This is honestly true, I got all the way to cornwall once, in the most mellow mood possible, without the engine ever making positive boost, cruising at 65-70 and made 33mpg in my TT (got the caluclator out!)... no roadworks or stop start though, just a constant speed.. It's rare you can drive it like that though - normal driving consumption is 20-25, but on the motorway they are not too bad, as long as your speed is constant. At brunters I did a whole tank - 65 quids worth in 95 miles.
chilli
If you need to ask I can't help but wonder if it is not the right car for you. although I've found mine affordable and actually not bad if driven very gently (I've never bothered to work out the mpgs though, just fill it up when it needs it). The supra is a really nice car to drive gently (ironically enough) I've found, just cruising and using 6th gear, it's very effortless and torquey
heckler
I can get 28/29 on a motorway.. not too sure just running about, on a track had, well... i worked it out at about 5mpg - well worth it! forgot to add, I have a TT with hybrids, emanage blah blah etc... blitz supra
I have a NA Manual Average round town 24mpg Best on long runs is 36mpg @ average 80 !! I use this for working out mpg http://www.alphacouriers.com/fuel-converter.html
hadyn
I presume having cruise control and setting to say 80-90 leptons for an entire motorway journey would be good for mpg?
silvershark44
Even N/A's are thirsty cars. In real world terms, they use just as much as each other. Its just that on a long journey out of the N/a and the TT the TT will use a bit more. But not that much more. You will find yourself driving from petrol station to petrol station. If you decide to get a TT you have to run it on Optimax or Ultimate especially if its a jap import. So thats something else to consider. I wouldnt be bothered too much in the N/A though
Matt Harwood
I presume having cruise control and setting to say 80-90 leptons for an entire motorway journey would be good for mpg? Setting it to 70 would be even better I can generally get 320 miles on a tank full with varied driving. I've found it's less with an auto. Pig
I normally get about 225 per tank. my max was 375, mainly very gently driving (the mrs did a lot of it). T61 Auto
