I could do with a bit of help with a learning curve on this one please guys and girls .......

Madam has been having a few issues with her alarm lately and is looking at getting it replaced for one reason or another ...... she has decided that she is interested in Proximity Sensors & Remote Engine Start but has been given some bad feedback:

Proximity Sensors ..... keeps getting activated and set off by cats ...... we've six of the four legged variety

Remote Engine Start ...... simply more trouble than it's worth

We could do with a little bit of feed back please, positive & negative from those who have experience :search: :search: :search:

She has been told that the TOAD AI606 might be the one for her ...... any views please????

I've not a clue about TOAD alarms, but I know Clifford Alarms support proximity sensors, turbo timers and remote start. Clifford also have 'blackjax' which is pretty damn awesome (as long as you dont forget to enter the pin lol).

I've always had Clifford alarms in my cars, and I've never had one fail yet (though I have read of others who were'nt so lucky).

ive got a clifford 650 IIRC with remote start. remote start is the bollox! i love it! the blackjax feature with the clifford is also good. if you forget the code you do get a bit of a warning signal to remind you. the proxmity sensors dont trouble me, and if they did you could easily turn them off.

Toad don't do remote start, and their external proximity sensor is a little... Well, not as loud as I'd want it.

As already said, the Clifford can do all you want and reliably too, providing it's installed properly.

For the slightly technophobic, then perhaps the Clifford isn't the one to go for. They do 'comunicate' to you if something does go wrong, and you do need to be able to understand and remember what buttons do what on the key fob.

Personally, I love 'em, but I wouldn't sell one to a doddery old man! ;)

ive got he very alamr in question on my impreza, the proximity sensors is good and i also have the pager with it which is handy if i cant hear it, and yes has been set off by a cat whilst at work, ran out all guns ablazing ready to kick off and it was acute lil kitty near my wheels lol

Wouldnt recommend a remote on start tho, it cancels out your Cat1 on the alarm so no insurance discount (wow £17) but its up to you!
