TRD3000GT
People who come in to London for a visit are quite often shocked by the size, traffic, people and other aspects. Its a whole new world for outsiders. If you know where your going and you have lots of friends its good fun. I dont consider it massive any more and use it as my playground
Charlotte
I was missing your sarcasm and wit. Didn't know you'd been to the big smoke, any particular reason? Whilst we're on the review tip, watch Clerks 2, it's very funny.

Not seen that yet but I'm a fan of Kevin Smith's other films (well except Jay and Silent Bob strike back which was a bit poo).

Well worth a watch. I find Jay strangely sexual. Must be the dancing.
michael
I was missing your sarcasm and wit. Didn't know you'd been to the big smoke, any particular reason? I've been in Poland Maidenhead since Sunday - I'm down here for a course. I just got bored last night so decided to go out for a drive with the SatNav lady. I've only been to London a handful of times so decided to have a bit of a look, I've never had the opportunity to drive within the M25 so thougt I'd cross this off the 'to do' list. I didn't actually do much, just headed in on the M4, got to Leicester Sq and then went out again (via Chiswick I think?). I was pretty much in awe of everything to be honest, the huge advertising boards, the posh office buildings, hotels with flames coming out of them, Harrods, The Ritz, that bloke with the bow and arrow, taxis and so on... quite weird seeing stuff from the TV in reality - the Natural History Museum building blew me away. The whole scale of the place is quite impressive and from inside the car I was saved from my snot turning black - happy days.

I do pity you poor blighters living there though... it's all a bit cramped for me.. and I'm not keen on black snot..
Class One
You should have gone south of the river into Southwark or Lambeth and enjoyed the "being held up at gunpoint by a black man experience", only then can you truely say you've experienced London. (Although I've heard that you can experience the same, in certain parts of Manchester! )
michael
People who come in to London for a visit are quite often shocked by the size, traffic, people and other aspects. I must admit I was a little shocked by how busy it was at 9pm, Leeds is usually empty by then during the week - those crazy taxi drivers amused me with their unpredictable movements and the way every traffic light is like being at Santa Pod cracked me up, people really seem to be in a hurry to reach the next hold-up. I need to spend more time down here, it's not as bad as they say it is (The people talk funny though)

My grandma lives in one of the nice suburbs just far enough away to not be bothered by huge crowds and easily commutable to 'inner' London. The museums are well worth a visit. It's very pretty around christmas time too. Oh and the roads are much better in Poland.

martin_a
Hmm having lived at Whitechapel, Streatham and Harringay i have to say London is nice for visit but not the best place to live. Working in Farringdon and Clerkenwell was ok though and it is nice to stroll past national monuments on your way to work. Some never fail to impress. m. China Man
I like london, I have been here for 15 years. There are everything you need and the question is if you have the money for it or not. I like choices and in London there is no short of it.
