Cheap runaround wanted

Ian W

Recommended Posts

Right guys.

As if selling my Supra for a more 'practical' car isn't bad enough, losing my job has drastically reduced my budget for it's replacement.

i'm not looking for a cheap runaround for up to £600. Can't be too small and will preferably be a turbo diesel but this isn't essential.

cheers guys

Ian

Do an advanced search on ebay motors :-)

Click on car's and then advanced find - Set max limit to £600 - then type T&T in the search bar - press enter. You'll find a few i'm sure of that!

heres a few:

cheers mate.

I did think about ebay but have always been sceptical. is it basically a private sale in terms of rights etc and i can walk away if i'm not happy with it?

does / has anyone else bought a car through ebay before?

I've done it once - when i bought the LDV. But at the time i wasn't that fussed about the condition etc.

Just be aware that if you bid you generally are buying it - If they are genuine people they will let you come and take a look at it before the end of the auction. If its dodgy then they will not. I think thats how it works anyway.

If not - Loot do some cheap cars - and here also - http://www.eastcoastsalvage.co.uk

Your get out with eBay is if you ask them ten million questions and they tell you its fine but when you get there is a bag of nails.

Its like phoning in autotrader, being told it is in excellent condition and then turning up to find a right dogs dinner (hate it when sellers do that - why do they think you'll even entertain the car after you've been lied to).

If the car wasn't as described then you can walk away.
