simonas Posted November 24, 2006 Share Posted November 24, 2006 Example of this is prisons, lots of schemes in there to help them off it, some leave prison clean but they go straight out and get a fix. m. the daft thing is loads of smack heads get their habit in prison. its easy to get smack in prison and it stays in system for a very short period whereas cannabis etc stays in longer hence people smoke more heroin in prison!!! I deal with crime everydayas a criminal brief and 9 out of 10 jobs are for druggies who have to fund a habit that may cost £100 a day or more. Just think of how much they are robbing to get £100 a day on the black market!!! The whole thought of human rights getting involved in this drugs scandal disgusts me. We really need someone to come in to power and throw out all of these ridiculous ideas before they have a chance to progress any further than they should. I simply cant understand how they think that giving convicted criminals drugs with my tax money is going to improve them as people and help rehabilitate them. Make them go cold turkey and face their punishment. It’s the same argument with alcoholics, once you’re an alcoholic your always an alcoholic you either drink or you stop for ever but you will always have the addiction. Should the government supply them with the bottle in their prison cell!? We are going to have to accommodate 500,000 Bulgarian and Romanians in the next 12 months and our borders are haemorrhaging. I'm not a racist and don’t care about whom they are but I do care about the fact that a large percentage of them are going to make full use of our NHS as well as expect to receive jobs and or dole cheques. We really need to straighten ourselves out. I consider myself to be pretty left-wing and I'd say that a few years ago I'd have torn your opinions apart. But, I'm coming around to this way of thinking. I'm not happy about it but I'm equally not happy with this country, its Government and many of the people that live here either. So, great post. We really need to straighten ourselves out. Most of Eastern European I know, flying or driving regulary to their country (Poland, Lithuania) to get CHEAPER, PRIVATE treatment. Most popular is dentist i belive - here you have to wait ages for NHS dentist and you end up by paying some cash anyway for average job. In Poland you can heal bad tooth for around 30 pounds in private, experienced clinic - and you visiting family at the same time About straigtening yourself - hell yes, I cannot agree more. As i mentioned in some other post - UK is paradise to every ass***e because of stupid law and too much cash in Treasury, if you smart or impertinent enough , you can drain shitloads of money using damn Human Rights argument everywhere. I do not agree with idea of giving drug for free, because injections done by NHS will be safe to smackheads, while if they are doing this by themself, there is always chance their will overdose and die! Of course if NHS will do gold shots only - good thinking - 3 years and we would get rid of all drug junk from UK. PS. Do not forget this starting from smoking cannabis - recently class C drug - after some time some of cannabis smokers are looking for some "stronger" experience. Its controversial and will be opposed but there is a fuzzzy logic to it Yea but talk about a long term plan that in reality will never produce the results, a bunch of suits sitting in a room not really knowing what they are dealing with. Ive known some heavy drug users and beleive me they will do almost anything for a fix.. Its sickening. Also I can think of 1,000,000 things they could do better with my tax money. I agree but if it reduces the crime rates that would be a start cos at moment we're al victims of burglaries thefts etc and it will only get worse. When most smack heads I deal with go on methadone it seems to slow them down offending wise cos non of them are good at offending cos they are so desperate. I just think its a pilot worth running to see how it works.
