Charlotte
It's unreal. AND to think that when my sister had an accident and couldn't work she had to claim jobseekers- they made her pay it all back once she her case was through court!!!! Mother fu....s I know exactly how it feels. I broke my ankle and had a few operations. I couldn't work for a couple of months but I was temping at the time so couldn't claim sickness through work. I had to go the benefits agency and fill out soooo many forms, queued with a bunch of freaks and the woman made me feel like a piece of sh*te on her shoe. I'm sorry, I'm by no means a snob but can't these paper shufflers work out the people taking the piss from the ones with genuine problems? As if you don't feel bad enough for being there. After all that I got my sickness pay (I think about £120 in total for 2 months off) 2 months after I'd gone back to work. Luckily I was living at home and not having to pay a mortgage or something. Jake
I wasn't allowed to sign on when I was out of work as I had savings over £3000. Bastards.I don't think that's right. They let me. I haven't worked since Sept 2005 but never bothered signing on until last week. Well, I haven't actually 'signed on' yet, just had the jobseeker interview thing. My first actual signing-on is next Weds. Should be fun, can't wait!
Jake
my sister had an accident and couldn't work she had to claim jobseekers That makes no sense. How can you be a "Job Seeker" if you're unable to work?
Pot
The whole situation p!$$es me off, you work hard, you get stung, you don't bother, it's all paid for you... You want a bonus, work on the side... I'm in the minority of being a single, white, male, without kids, who is in the lowest category of being a drain on society, but harvested the most for being so... I'm only on £24k, but I'm paying off my debts throughout the years when I was on £15-16k struggling through a start in IT (Which is a different discussion) - And whilst I have never lived the 'high life', I've always paid my bills, including £1k a year for council tax, purely for living somewhere, that someone else owns!... I've cut down on any vices I used to have big time, moved into a shared house (It's rather nice though), just so I have some spare cash, and I can pay off the debts I've built up... But I'm getting there, bit by bit... (Argh, rant over...)

Kranz
Christ, I'm so lucky that in my line of work there's never any redundancies. Sorry to hear this mate! Hope you find something soon.
