Casino Royale - a review

Couple of bits of Trivia about this film,

Le Chiffre was sucking down on Benzedrine, an early stimulant that gave an euphoric effect. Probably to help him concentrate during the card game. It was used a lot in the books, even by Bond himself but has never been in the film.

First Bond movie where it rains too.

Saw the film yesterday and I have to agree with everyone, loved it, very refreshing and good to see a down and dirty, tough Bond.

How about best Bond Girl Actress? Not the best looking, but the best as an actor.

Is it possible to have a list with the top five slots empty?

Don't be silly, they could never have a half decent actress. It would show up the mediocre bond performances.

I'm looking forward to seeing Daniel Craig actually. I don't really like him to look at but he's a good actor and it's what these types of films have needed for a long time.

One could say it had a weak ending, but the book ended very much that way, just Bond and Lynd recovering, then she tops herself because she can't live with being a double-agent and betraying Bond.

It's from that point onwards that Bond devotes his life to destroying SMERSH.

I thought the very last scene was truly excellant, with the classic "Bond...James Bond" then straight into the Dr. No theme, which would have been his next adventure when he got back to Blighty.

Maybe he should have driving a Bentley GT rather then the DB9, but then Ford were the paymasters.
