alan_blue
was also thinking of getting one of these as when i tok off the inlet to the throttle body there was quite a bit of oil, how come its on the other side of the engine then? Suprash
Firstly catch tanks need to be fitted correctly, ie lower then were their being feed from. It seems my turbo issues are breathing related and not turbo themselves. Phoenix reckon my breathing system is struggling causing too much pressure to be put on the turbos, as my catch tank is a little to high, and some of my hose kit pipes are suffering collaps due to them not being heat rated. If you have oil in your inlet piping them its one of two things, 1) your cam breathers are throwing out some oil, make sure the breathers that go across the cam case are all ok, as I have been told if it cant breath across the cam case properly this can cause problems. 2) Your turbos are leaking oil, this could either be the turbos themselves or because your breathing system is failing putting extra pressure on your tubo seals.........sorry that went on abit, just trying to see, even something simple like a hose kit and catch tank can cause endless problems....... JohnA
It could do with larger diameter hoses. The longer the path compared to stock, the larger the diameter has to be so the pumping losses are not increased. Here it looks like it's smaller than stock AND longer path. mr lover
i was told to use 15mm pipes and not the smaller 9mm
Suprash
i was told to use 15mm pipes and not the smaller 9mm It should be 15mm pipes I believe........
JohnA
Aye, at full boost and high revs a 2JZ of 'some' age will need a lot of crankcase ventilation. This narrow path can't hack it. Get some fuel-grade hose from your local motor factors and replace them. Best is the one with the coil inside, it doesn't collapse.
alan_blue
so where is best to fit one on a standard engine then?
JohnA
Here is how I did mine. Fits neatly and securely under the std airbox and intercooler pipe
alan_blue
what about doing one on the other side? ie near the throttle valve?
JohnA
that side can be pressurised, that's why it's got a one-way valve. If you are feeling adventurous, be careful not to pressurise the camcover (and consequently the crankcase). That wouldn't make you popular with the crank seal.
