DaveK
I'm not sure my rear window demister is working correctly - although I think it is partially working. I just used it when coming home - but even after 20mins, the rear window is still not clear. However - it obviously is working a bit because it has cleared slightly each side of the elements (although it took about 10-15 minutes before that happened). I'm sure that on my 911 I was told once that the rear window heater was 2 stage - it starts at high power, then drops to a lower power - and then eventually switches itself off. I suspect the Supra is the same - and that it's only working in low power mode. Can anybody confirm this and tell me what to check?

My rear screen heater is never on long enough to find out if it is stages as I use air con to clear the rear screen very quickly.
Ric
mine takes a while but i think this is down to having the rear window tinted which i suppose would hinder its performance a little.
TrickTT
Do you park it facing downhill? Sounds daft, but mine used to collect water in the channels either side if the tailgate, right level with the bottom of the rear screen and it misted up quite badly. Solved the problem by reversing into the space instead, allowing all the water to drain out.

Mike M
Well my last one was slow like that and so is the new one it seems. The last one I found a leak from the top of the window that ran down the inside of the rubber and dripped onto the boot floor. I know the control box has two different sized coils inside maybe for the two stage thing. The quickest way to demist is to use the aircon it's almost instant. TLicense
Mine turns itself off after a while... Also I found having the air-con on recirc (IIRC) seemed to make it more misty.
